Rent is meant to kick you down and make sure you stay down. Just go to apartments.com and type in some random city in America and look at rent. If you never have disposable income, then you are a more obedient slave to the system. Rent is the biggest scam that takes away your ability to do anything free. It wouldn't surprise me if your rent is more than 50% of what you make in a month. Real estate is also bullshit because it just creates more bullshit jobs like real estate agents who charge 50% broker fee. This is just rent-seeking, pun intended. I guess you could say that having a profit incentive would mean the professional business managing the property would ensure the property is in good condition, yet there are many shitty landlords who do the minimum to fix things in the apartment.
Hey new here but I work security for a casino and recently we had a meeting over piercings. Women can have three piercings In their ears minus gauges and they can have a facial piercing. But men can only have a stud or small hoop In their ears. I was gonna upload the picture but it wasn't letting me. Is this even legal or just straight up discrimination? I was wanting to get my lower lip pierced.
The average staff working this restaurant per night is around 10-20 servers, there used to be old and broken chairs and tables from the restaurant floor that we used. Recently the General Manager took all those chairs and tables from the break room (where we were told to put them for years) into the coat check where no one can use them. Those little benches are hollow and contain costume pieces and are all broken and 15+ years old. Every night at this restaurant the servers put in more than 20,000 steps and now they are taking away their only way to rest. The managers have a history of stealing tips and verbal abuse and now they are trying to physically punish their workers now. (I wish I also had a picture of the kitchen staff’s break room/closet that they split between 8 people)

My 16 year old niece just got her first job at a fast food place. They’re paying her minimum wage, which is $7.25 in my state. The job is at the same restaurant I worked at for my first job, in 2005. I made $5.15 an hour. That means that in the last 18 years, they have raised the pay by a whole $2.10 per hour. Holy hell. Really puts in perspective to see a real world example. The greed is horrifying. Of course I knew the minimum wage was $7.25 and has been for a long while but something about the direct comparison of the same job role at the same company paying a mere $2 difference after 18 YEARS is blowing my mind. She wasn’t even BORN YET when I worked there!
I work for a large supermarket chain. Someone high up set the company budget without taking into account our annual contract raise. Now, for the next 7 weeks all part timers have been reduced to 15 hours per week. All employees are being encouraged to take time off. Oh, and two new corporate positions were created. No one wants to work?
