This happened last year, but figured I’d share because this was so ridiculous. I was looking for a FT job in a niche industry, and there weren’t a lot of options in my area. I noticed a company had been posting a position for well over a year (red flag perhaps?) and I finally went ahead and applied for it. My phone interview went great and I was called back for an in person interview. I got my hair cut, bought a new outfit, prepared my interview questions, everything. I get to the interview and the woman I spoke with on the phone brings be back to an office where we begin the interview. I thought all was going great until about 10-15 minutes into the interview, her boss shows up with his laptop. I was confused and didn’t know someone else would be joining, and I also thought it…

If we could get the Oilfield workers to strike right now, we could probably force some real change, but a lot of my oil field friends are stubborn boot lickers
am i being underpaid? should i quit?
i am 14 and working for my uncles tow truck company. doing digital dispatch, insurance and customers they call me and ask if i can tow a vehicle, or get an update on a vehicle that i assigned before, i review the details, and accept / tell them the status. i get a call every 5-10 minutes. i technically “work” 24/7 but we rarely get any calls past 10 pm and before 6am. the agreement we came to was $200 a week. when we came to this agreement, i was only supposed to pick up the phone from 8am -9pm, but it seems this has since changed. $200 is less the minimum wage sure but for answering phone calls i thought it was pretty normal. However the past two weeks ive gotten paid there has been a day of that week where our drivers weren’t out, or something wrong with…
I have found that luxury retail and bartending positions will just not hire people unless they have experience in those fields. I have applied for at least 20 bartending jobs and over 10 luxury retail jobs. No dice! I do not get how these fields manage to always have positions available yet deny anybody who is trying to get into the field!!! It makes no sense how these fields seemingly have no shortage of people given how they refuse to hire anyone without 3+ years of “relevant” experience. If anyone has an explanation, PLEASE give me one.
Someone please help me.
30 female and can't stand work. I have never been able to hold a job longer than 7 months due to my mental illness, but I have to have insurance and I have to have enough money to pay rent. Never been fired, just couldn't stand working so I resigned. Working puts a dark cloud over literally everything I do and makes me want to not even be alive anymore. I'm a horribly toxic person with my family due to my antisocial personality disorder but at work I know how to control it so I've never even gotten in trouble at work. Right now I live with my parents and sister, but when my sister moves out I will go with her and there is no other option. She is my only friend. My ideal job would be to sell art online, but I'm no good at art and even…
