A work dinner to discuss issues?
I just quit this job yesterday and I'm so glad I did. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had an employer that did this. So my now former boss told us all about a week ago that she wanted all of us to get together for a company dinner. I had no desire to have dinner with my coworkers. There are 8 employees that would be presenr. I don't like any of them so the thought of having to say a couple hours after the 9 hrs I had to be there didn't appeal to me. Yesterday she informed us all at a staff meeting that this dinner is meant to be a team building thing. That she wants everyone to come with a pad of paper to write down any issues they have with other people or with how things have been run. That there was going to…

So…in my previous Reddit post I explained my new job. Trained for two days, boss was moody and impolite the entirety of it, I decided the job wasn’t a good fit. Did not give him any of my bank info or paperwork, he only had my name and number. Didn’t even work long enough to learn coworkers names. I quit over the phone a few hours before my shift, told him I appreciated the opportunity and effort to train me but the job isn’t a good fit and I’m resigning. He interrupted me to basically say that he understaffed and me not coming in would be a huge fuck up, he also started to say “you can’t just start a job and say you don’t like it and leave”….I trained TWO DAYS. It’s a minimum wage part time job. I hung up on him. I know that this was a…
I work at an ice cream parlor, we generally don’t wear gloves as we just use a napkin to hold the cone as we fill it. I saw one of my work friends (the only non white person in staff) putting on gloves as he walked in. I asked him if he was going to make cones but he said that customers ask him to wear gloves while he works, and the owners “asked” him to wear them so people would stop asking. It’s a very elderly town so the customers acting like that is horrible but not surprising, but how can the owners back it up? Is there something I can do to stop this?
Like that even is that
Girl stole 45$ worth of food lied to the manager on duty late 2hrs for her shift like 2 days later Manager Best I can do is a write up I don’t like to fire people
I Don’t Think I’m Qualified For This Job
Are they trying to demote me?
So I’m a supervisor at my job. Apparently for the role, I’m supposed to have a “recertification” every few months to make sure I still have the skills. That’s weird within itself but whatever. However, my boss’s boss told me it was supposed to be in January. Didn’t happen. About a week or so ago, my AM shows me that her boss says it will be 7/29/23 & location is TBD. Cool whatever. Nobody says anything else TO ME about it. I figure it got moved around again just because that’s how it always is with the area manager. However, fast forward to today, and the GM comes back to the store with two employees who went to the certification event and took their tests. Mind you, my GM has been mentioning this to me for months and I’ve been practically begging for the training that I would need at…
