About a year ago I left my job as a floor manager of a fairly large local store. It wasn’t awful but I was getting fed up with the politics of the place and it seemed they were starting to go down hill (recently found out that because of poor buying choices and spending they are in financial trouble). The job I got payed more and was with another small/ locally owned company and I generally like working for these types of places. Gave my two weeks and left on very good terms. I applied to a small restaurant close to my house. I went through an in-person interview with them where I was transparent I can only work for the next 6 months. Mind you, I was ready to be rejected for this fact but wanted to be honest since I respected it’s harder for small businesses to see employees leave unexpectedly. They agreed this was fine as long as I would be free every weekend. I let them know I had one trip from 8/9-8/12 and one possible weekend day off in August. Had my appraisal at work and brought up the fact of not being happy with the pay since there's lots of jobs out there paying more for less skill. For my boss to turn round and say “I agree with “senior management” are saying that if your not happy with the pay “there's the door”. We have always been paid a bit more than your average run of the mill job but now we are being paid less than that for a semi skilled job and the company clearly doesn't care about that, considering loads of loyal employees have left to other jobs paying considerably more in the same industry and now there is a job adverts up looking for lots of new employees.

I don’t want to work anymore because I want to end my life I might just quit with nothing else lined up.

My coworkers & I have noticed we get more work done on days our boss is not there. He is a narcissist. When he arrives, it is constant chaos, micromanaging, and delegating extra tasks for no reason other than he told us to do them. Meanwhile, we are unable to actually do what we are supposed to do (for compliance) because he gives us unnecessary side tasks (often already completed by other departments) I can’t wait to quit!

So, I was working a contract medical job , very good pay. The client wasn’t getting enough staff to come in and work ( contract or permanent ) so they decided to switch to another contracting company just as my rotation ended. I was left with 4 days to make a choice , leave ( probably the state ) at short notice for another job, or stay with the new company. The difference between the new company and old. No insurance benefits until after 1 year. $2000 less per month in per Diem pay. 1.5x OT instead of 2x My wife had an ER visit 1 weeks after. I signed up for marketplace insurance but it took a month to kick in. So imagine that expense. Pretty significant pay drop. Not to mention their HR presented as really unknowledgeable and unhelpful with the onboarding. 2 weeks later , the client…

Are payments seriously resuming in October? Is there really no other plans? What about a national emergency for student loans?

Yeah, you read that right. This happened 4 years ago, I graduated from trade school to be an electrician and applied to a job an hour away. They scheduled an interview, I got dressed up in business casual attire and drove to the site. the owner's wife greeted me and interviewed me for 30 minutes and at the end said “well, the good news is I like you, you have great people skills and seem like a good person. Bad news is we aren't hiring at the moment but we will keep your resume for the future.” I'm still angry about this 4 years later

I’ve been with a huge Corp(70k employees) for about 9 months. Make a great salary. Left a career with a fintech where we were lean and fast and always busy. Here…I’m never busy. I don’t know what to do to fill my day. Is this what it’s like working with huge corporations? I may actually work 20 hours a week here and I’m seriously wondering I’m going to get “found out” so is this normal???
