I'm asking for a friend. He started a new job and he gets paid holidays. He went in on 4th of July for some OT pay. Today he found out that because he's on probation he doesn't get holiday pay and if he wouldn't have worked they would give him that holiday pay eithet. I have never heard of such a thing. Does this sound legit to you?

Hey! We usually get 8hrs of personal time per year for our birthdays. This month is my birthday, and when I checked my PTO I had my normal accrued sick and vacation time, plus 40 hours of personal time. I just requested half a week for my birthday using the personal time, I’ll see what they say. Do I have any right to keep these hours now, even if it was a mistake?

The production companies are saying greedy millionaires like Harrison Ford and Jennifer Lawrence just want buckets of money to add to their substantial wealth. The actors are saying they're fighting for Harrison Ford the carpenter and Jennifer Lawrence the high school dropout, the people they would have been if they hadn't become A-list stars. I work in a care facility with elderly. The job itself is fine and I enjoy helping out individuals. The thing that making me anxious is the coworkers. I’m 20 and work with nurses aged 40+. There is a lot of gossiping between each other which I don’t care for, but they also say disgusting things about our patients. Calling them crazy and nasty and other names, these are elderly with dementia/ Alzheimer’s. There’s this one colleague that makes me ANXIOUS AF. Last time I worked she told me I have a fat face and asked about my weight. She asked if I take medicine, cause my face looked smaller when I started. I've been lurking here for some time, figured I'd share this story with you guys. About a decade ago, I walked out of a health insurance job as I had had enough, they called later asking if I quit, and I said no, I'll just come in when I feel like it (learned this from Office Space), so they sacked me, I got my termination notice and was able to then claim unemployment. Having always worked in an office up until that point, I got a job in a factory making products related to fire retardants. Anyway, there was no regard for safety at all, the dust extractor didn't work, so I puchased my own mask much to the amusement of the other guys working there who were breathing that shit in on a daily basis, same deal with glues and other chemicals, they were basically huffing that shit all…

I just started a new job at a call center two weeks ago, making a whopping $16 an hour and I’m already incredibly sick and tired of it. Not only are the pay and benefits garbage, but the people I work with are so incompetent and useless. It’s a completely soulless job, which I expected, but it just makes me hate capitalism even more because even while doing this type of work I’m still making barely enough to skate by. I only get 4.5 PTO days a year which is practically nothing and it’s frustrating because this company likes to market themselves as having a flexible schedule but if I want that flexibility I won’t be paid for it and can’t use PTO to cover it since there’s barely any to begin with. It’s quite ironic because my job requires me to assist people with their health insurance benefits yet…

Couple of years ago I had a good job with good pay, one day out of no where I was let go for no reason.. no lie.. that really affected me mentally since I was there for a a lil over 2 years and I was really working hard, I guess that was dumb of me to do?.. so yeah after that I had other jobs but things just dont work out and Im just so stressed about it, and just to fck everything up my car was stolen last night (i got insurance) so im good on that but now I gotta get a new car! like wtf Im jobless with no car, and Im really thinking about the Army since i ain’t got shit no more im just so sad and done with everything.
