It's almost like they think they're above the Law… Already contacted an attorney, waiting to hear back after review of my case, plus the labor commissioner in my state for good measure.

A bit of a rant, I'm willing to answer questions if I missed something. I work for Safeway in the department no one wants to work in: the deli. Literally, when people from other departments are called in to help, they immediately are like “fuck my life” as if I'm not right in front of them and can hear them. I've been here just shy of 3 months and have quickly become one of the best employees, primarily because I haven't called out right before my shift, showed up 30+ minutes late, or taken longer breaks than I should. My manager has said that me and her are the “dream team” and that I'm one of the few people she can rely on. For context, I work at a city centre bank. I’ve worked there for two years. We are relatively busy on and off, but not all the time and it’s completely random. We are, and always have been severely understaffed. There is only ever 4 people plus managers in the branch when there needs to be around 10 for it to be effective. i don't have evidence but if i did, my mother had a baby which i took care of and would often need to leave work on time to take care of him. after lots of stress from them constantly giving me clopings and making me do 3x the work of other people. i left with mutual support. after settling down and having a more clear mind, i wanted to return. we set an appointment and when i got there, they asked “how i was and how the baby was”. i said it was good and kind of went on a tiny tangent about how good it was with him (not knowing what to say) and after some silence, he told me that they wouldn't take me back but never brought up the baby. i wish i had said nothing about the baby and told more about why i left and…

I've been working 70 hour weeks for two months and the journeymen I work under has me running a crew of three (I'm an apprentice) to get this big project done. To be fair this isn't a hard job if you have any kind of common sense and can work a tape and have tools but I'm tired of getting bitched at every day to hurry up while they watch me and my crew work. Like I was sick as fuck yesterday and I had to come in to get our man holes put in for this new electrical service at an industrial site. Literally every 15 minutes I was puking my guts up and climbing ladders, working a jumping jack to pack the dirt and clay, signaling our crane operator and getting everything ready.
