Hey everyone. I was told to post here after posting in a different sub! I work as a barista for minimum wage in the Midwest USA. The issue I am having is sometimes our drawer will be off by a little bit (either plus or minus) if it’s more than $1 we are expected to put our own tips into the drawer to make up the difference. If it’s over we are supposed to put it in the cash drop. This is so hella annoying to me and making me want to quit working there. What would you do if you were me? I should say I don’t mind this job and have been here for 3 years, but every time this comes up I get pissed off. Thanks

Boss Right Next To Me All Day
OK, so I work in Japan and the offices here have a certain set-up. There are no cubicles and the office floor is completely open plan in my company. So there is basically no privacy. Everyone can see everyone else all day. My boss sits about a metre and a half to my right and I am perpendicular to him, all day. So, I can always see him, for the full eight hours, right there in my peripheral vision. I think it's having a subtle psychological effect of causing slight anxiety or a feeling of indignance in me. He's just sort of always there: the shape of his head, all day long, and he can always see me more directly than I can see him. My Japanese coworkers don't act as if they are bothered by this arrangement, even the ones who are sitting very close to their division…

3 weeks ago, I went to a 1 on 1 interview, and then on Thursday went to a group interview. Everything went well, and I felt like the hiring manager and I were extra talkative (I hear that is good in job interviews). Though I was very nervous, me being 14 and this being my first interview, but I smiled and made eye contact and everything else. Long story short, a week after I called to check in, and they said “go to HR”, and took my name and number. I went to HR, and they said call your store-thanks a lot. 2 weeks after that, after not hearing anything, I called again yesterday and they said they would “pass on my name and number to HR”. My last ditch resort is going directly to the hiring manager tomorrow, in the store. Basically, I’m going to say that I wish…
i have years of experience i have a college degree i don’t think that any entry level positions meant to be a way into an organization/company/business should require either of them are you over the age of 18? yes are you able to communicate fluently in english? yes are you authorized to work in the united states? yes do you have a HS diploma or GED? yes BOOM! you’re qualified for 80% of ALL JOBS in the US requiring years of experience, and a college education is just their way of not training you. that’s all this is about: nobody wants to train anymore
And they wonder why people hate the rich
I left my original employer after 3 years for a temp position that was more relevant for the degree that I'm going to school for. I left that job in February. I started my new position in March, but the this position only lasted few months because a large layoff followed quickly after I started. My last day was in the middle of May. I applied for unemployment after the layoff. I really don't like applying for financial assistance but I have a family and it seems like nobody can find a job, even with 100+ applications in. (Ask me how I know.) It is now July and I have finally got word back from the unemployment office. I am ineligible for benefits because apparently I didn't claim my active employer. The job that I left in February still hasn't taken me off of their payroll. I'm not getting paid,…
Promotions– is this unreasonable?
Im in tech at a very large multinational company. I was hired at associate level three years ago. Yep, that’s an absurdly long time to be associate. I am definitely not doing associate level work but I can’t get promoted and I feel pretty screwed over. Let me begin by saying that I will absolutely at the first opportunity dump this job, but tech is not done with layoffs and hiring freezes are still in effect at many places. It might take a bit to find something better. In the meantime, I’m stuck here and I’d like some input on the situation. Please be kind, and also, I’d love strategies to either play their games or fight back (if there is any basis). About 1.5 years ago, my dept lead started putting together various promotion requirements. This involved completion of various certifications where the expectation was that we would not…
