Rant incoming, and sorry for formatting, on mobile. I work as a warehouse manager for an electronics manufacturer. Most days my job isn't too terrible (compared to a lot of posts I see), but for the past few months I have been having a problem with a member of our sales and marketing team. She keeps making promises (delivery date for orders) without checking with any other department (namely the production and warehouse, ie, me). And then when production fails to deliver on time, she tells management it is my fault, and they routinely take her side. We use a lot of custom components for our products that are made to order, some with incredibly long (6-18 month) lead times, and she regularly does not check with us to see if we have them in stock before approving delivery dates. My inventory levels are set by corporate policy, so I…

When did you become an anti-worker?
Did something happen to make you one or did you reach a certain age when you just couldn’t be bothered to grind away anymore?
Worked as a manager for this company for 8 months and busted my ass for them. Rebuilt the operations structure, would work 12 hour days on my 6th workday without compensation, covered for no call no shows, consistently worked in 115° weather with no AC doing physical labor and was let go yesterday for not being happy and not being a cultural fit. I did nothing but exceed expectations and metrics but was let go for not being there for the “greater good” as they said. Was never given a warning or talked to just immediately terminated even though when I had to cover shifts for no call no shows I was only told to give that employee a write up. I was told during my termination “you don’t seem happy and we want you to be happy so this decision is best for the both of us” while I’m…
Boss called me on my day off
So I’m a salaried employee and have earned PTO so I put in my request the day before I intended to be off. that’s pretty normal for our company. It was for last minute family coming into town, not that it really matters. This is a sales job and I’m currently in the top 5% of the nation so I’m doing pretty good. My boss had definitely seen my request to take this week off because he called me today and I said I was busy with family he just replied “okay call me tomorrow. Nothing important “ even though I’m also off tomorrow. I got pretty anxious and gave him a call back within 10 minutes and he didn’t answer so I’m now waiting to see if he’ll call me back again. I don’t wanna be bothered and stressed like this on my days off. I have absolutely no…
I work in IT fixing computers, both hardware and software issues. My main tool that gets used on each computer are usb flash drives. I'm the only technician so I'm the only one who really uses these thumbdrives. I bought my own, but the manager/owner doesn't want to pay me a tool fee which is why he provides me with them also. He's done this twice. He bought the first pack of no name drives and i used them for a few weeks before they started to fail. Within 2 months they've now all failed. He claims i must be 'hard on usb drives' because he once bought cheap drivback in 2004 that worked really well for a few years. The second pack he did the exact same thing, cheap no name drives. Within a few weeks they failed. Out of a pack of 8 i used 4 and still…
I work for a small startup MSP (Managed IT services for businesses) company. I originally was hired as a computer technician to do retail repairs, I did that for a year and found a better opportunity doing IT and Web Development for a local manufacturer. My boss countered and offered me web development (what I am really after) and a position in their new MSP startup. My first task was to rebuild the main website( was in WordPress, I rebuilt using laravel). After a month or so I wanted to show them the new website I was tasked to build (while maintaining my responsibilities on the helpdesk). My boss kept giving excuses about why he couldn't meet and after doing this for a few weeks, he created a ticket that we need to outsource the website to Upwork. Uh okay? Then I got a ticket that had me test strobe…
Boss won’t update office
So I work for a small family business , big clients but small business mentality. But they want it to feel corporate ……problem is the office hasn’t been updated since the 90s. Everything is beige, the cubes , walls, and the carpet is those squares (blue). Imagine 30 years of hands touching beige and coffee spills. Filthy. Every admin for the last 20 years has had to reach out to office desk companies to get quotes on new cubes and desks, problem is the one partner bottle necks it all and it hasn’t gotten done …..in 20 years or more at this point honestly . I have been pushing to let me paint the reception area since we are hiring and need some type of update, it’s a small room so would be low commitment but the partner let it slip that they don’t think it’s worth the money now…
