Inflation is theft from what you’ve already earned.

You can barely afford rent. They spend three generations of your families earnings on a single Yacht. Will you fight humanities predators, or are you sheep? They know they kill us. They laugh. Will you let them define the words, choose the engagements, control the narrative? Can you still dream? Or do you believe we should worship the Greedy? They print money while we struggle to pay rent. The system is carefully controlled and designed. They do not let us have social media presence. They own the news. If you start thinking, you lose your job. If you start organizing, you are silenced. If you become important, you are disappeared. Cancer can easily kill us individually. We have to collectively become angry and take action. We have to get everyone involved. We have to change the the world, or the status…

Got fired and I don’t know if there’s anything I can do about it

I have recently been fired from a job I was at for just over 2 months. I’m really upset over the whole thing and have driven myself to migraines thinking and worrying over it. I was terminated for: Asking about notice period Not having computer switched on Talking too much Having handbag on table However, the notice period was asked as part of a follow up conversation with my line manager, who had just told me to start applying for other jobs because I was due to be laid off at the end of the month. The computer wasn’t switched on because the (same) manager had asked me to shadow another employee who worked on telephones – so, my job was just to listen for the day. Talking too much is just totally made up because I’m very introverted and actually struggled to talk with people past ‘hello, good morning’.…

They won’t allow chairs in our department cause it doesn’t prompt productivity

So here’s the low down, I work at staples me and associates usually work 6 or 9 hours shifts and it was good until a couple months until we lost a lot of people (that will be a moth post later) but anyway we work these long shifts just me and my supervisor no break I could take one but I don’t want to leave him alone cause I’ve been left alone to work copy and print many times even though I wasn’t trained and it was stressful enough but one day to add on to the stress our district manager came to survey the store and said we can’t have stools in our department, cause it don’t promote productivity, which is ridiculous why can’t I be comfortable at work and sit down when we work this long and get pay peanuts at least can sit like today, we had a…

I got fired for not doing more hours than I’m paid for

On my first day they told me I could do 9 – 5 as long as the job was done. I was doing 8 – 7, but apparently it wasn't enough. Theu told me I had to do way more hours than my colleagues to justify having a better salary. I thought having more experience was enough. They admitted they expected someone who would be constantly on the phone getting new clients. I'm a freaking engineer. The worst in this I think : I'm the 3rd or 4th taking this job and leaving within the month. The others all quitted, I guess it's a win on my part to be the only one getting unemployment money.

should I quit or stick it out?

hello! I have been working in a lab for about 10 months. (First job out of college) It’s a very chill job where I do work for about 3 hours a day and then just sit for the remaining 5 hours. Honestly, I get pretty bored and tired easily. I get paid average for my experience and education (though I feel like I deserve more because even though I’m not in the lab all day, I definitely am doing the most.) should I wait until I complete a year to start looking for another job? They also give end of the year bonuses (this January they gave me $1500 even though I’d been working there for a couple of months). should I wait until after they give the bonus? Does it look bad if I leave my first job out of college too early? I honestly just feel stuck here,…

How to Teach My Mom Class Consciousness

This subreddit has become synonymous in my mind with anticapitalism or at the very least anti upper class & anti big business, so I thought I’d ask here: Today, I learned that my democratic mom still believes in trickle down economics/Reaganomics. I always understood my mom was way more moderate than me, but I also thought that, at the very least, it was common sense amongst democrats that reaganomics has since been disproven. It immediately turned into an argument and I got shut down pretty quick. I don’t expect her to fully meet me at my current stance of anti capitalist who wants to destroy the upper class and believes there’s no such thing as a good rich person or a rich person who earned their money, but at the very least I want her to understand that large businesses and the upper class aren’t on our side. However, I…

I threw my keys and walked out of my job with no savings and no new job planned for

Unfortunately living in the most unaffordable cities in the world, money has been tight and I (f27) been living pay cheque to pay cheque. Since being laid off due to COVID, my savings had run dry and sadly could only work entry level jobs since nothing else was available. I was lucky enough to eventually land a warehouse associate for a local clothing company. I was hired as the only associate supporting the manager for only 5 months until I became the manager. Ended up staying at the company for two years with a very nice raise, got put on salary, and we also had benefits. It is a small company that eventually went from 15 down to 7 and I was informed that any overtime worked, I could use in lieu for days there was less work available. Keep in mind I am the youngest one there and everyone…

“Lazy” – Why I disagree with this term

“Laziness” is the impact of mental health struggles, which can significantly affect a person's motivation, energy levels, and overall ability to engage in activities. In the fast-paced and demanding society of America (and other countries), individuals often face immense pressure to succeed and meet societal expectations. This pressure, coupled with extreme work-related stress and financial burdens, can take a huge toll on mental well-being. Conditions like anxiety, depression, and burnout are becoming increasingly prevalent among Americans, leading to a lack of motivation and productivity. The emphasis America has on productivity and achievement has created an environment where rest and self-care are undervalued and stigmatized, and leads to chronic exhaustion and a depletion of mental and physical resources. There's also a lack of adequate support systems and resources for mental health in the US, which further compounds this issue. Accessing mental health services is costly, as there's often limited availability of…
