Ive been completing an internship with the rudest person I’ve ever met in my life. She made fun of my disability, belittled me, and talked to me like I was a child in front of the entire office. I was hired on to be compensated while I finished the internship. I finish next week and then get to hand in my notice. I’ve never been more excited. They offered me $15 an hour to stay on and I’ve just accepted an offer with a competitor for $25.
Looks like I dodged a bullet
I applied for a job and not long after received an email directly from their IT Director. Email said that he liked my resume and wanted to know more about me through a two minute video of myself discussing my hobbies. I emailed him and said thank you for replying and asked if the two minute video was mandatory or optional. I then received an email stating they have decided to go another way. This whole transaction was in a period of 20 minutes. This seems weird and like a way to discriminate. I have a job, but if I didn’t I would have probably done the video if I need to. Is this normal? This is a repost cause my last one got taken down.
I deliver pizzas, or I did. Was living in a hotel that flooded and I had to start crashing at a friends house forty minutes from my work. Made the mistake of telling my boss, I’ve known and been a friend of for years, that I was looking for another job. I wanted to give her a heads up. That next schedule my 40hr a week went to 15hrs. I’d managed to get an interview and landed a job. Drove the forty minutes to work to put in my two weeks and the boss rewrote the schedule and took me off. Been door dashing these last weeks for money. I’ve never felt so disregarded by a company I gave my hardest to. Hoping to pick my life up! Already guaranteed the job, a promotion within a few months, and I’m searching for an apartment. Trying to stay positive
My partner recently found an email printed out and left on the printer for anyone to find that criticizes their work practices. Not that my partner isn’t performing to task, just pointing out that my partner found something and must have too much time to find issues like that. This isn’t the first time this happened either. My partner saw the same behaviors and actions at their last workplace they eventually fired from (without reason, at-will state). Is this some kind of office manager strategy to push employees to quit?
Current school I work/worked for 12 years as a facility manager is changing my work hours to 11-7pm. For over 12 years it’s been 6-2:30. Which gave me time to have a second job needles to say in this economy it has become a necessity. For the last 2 years I’ve worked once place 6am-2:30 the other 3-11:30pm. For summer , spring , and winter I’ve been able to accommodate a change in hours for both schools. Today the director asked me to come to her office and told me she needs my hours to be 11-7pm or resign. Both jobs carry my son and my health insurance the evening job has a retirement plan first pays a little more but no 401k. Is this legal she is giving me the weekend I don’t want to resign because I won’t be able to collect. I honestly feel this is just…
I work at some glorified servicedesk doing mainly network and security troubleshooting, voice over IP troubleshooting and catch & dispatch for some specialized products. We're inbetween a first and second line and have a shift system where most people work '9-5' more or less and a third of us works mornings, late and nightshifts. As external consultant, which I and 5 more out of a 12man team are, 1 week of nightshifts is half a month's pay in net bonus. This week a mail was sent to only the internal people that they wanted to change the night shift roster (2 people logged in at all times) to 1 person for the 10hr nightshift, external consultants no longer being elegible for the night shifts. Expert team would handle overflow in case of multiple calls. They ask for feedback. Meeting on tuesday morning, originally online, changed to in-person only. The 'communications…
