Like literally, everything. I have recently taken bar exam to become a practicing attorney. He asked me how did it go, and I said we will see. It is a hard one because you have to maintain 12 hours of constant focus. Just for him to give me a hard time how that is nothing and how he locked himself in the law school for 12 hours per day for a month to study for exam. It is getting tiring. I do not even know what to talk to him anymore, because whatever I say he will give me a hard time about it. I told him that for multiple choice questions, they could at least tell us right away the % we have received – he replied: you have to understand – you never listen to me what I tell you. Understand and go with it. I was…

Need a reference
Hi everyone, I’ve been unemployed for over a year due to mental health reasons.Im a recent grad whose been unlucky and have had horrible work experiences i s there anyone willing to provide me with a job ref?
I currently work on a help desk (thankfully this is just to bridge me to my next salaried, awesome job). They are constantly communicating that we must be signed in and have all our applications ready to go so we are ready to take a call at the beginning of our shift on the dot. Which of course means having to start firing everything up about 15 minutes before officially clocking in. They also communicate every Friday a reminder to submit your timesheet and stress in the Email AFTER your shift has ended. This is a huge NYC run hospital system. It seems to me that they would have a pretty well-informed legal department. Is this even legal??
Completely defeated, I see no way out
I have been working full time since I was 16-17 and hate literally every single day I have to go to work. Tried loads of jobs and nothing is satisfying it's always soul crushing. I have no idea how people do 60 hours in a week when I can barely come out the other side of 40. You barely get a weeks worth of paid time off over the course of an entire year and anytime you take a sick day your workload doubles because there is nobody to pick up the slack. You try to cut back your hours to something more reasonable and you lose even that measly week of vacation, not to mention the potential retaliation of not being “invested in your job”. I have no clue how other people cope with being constantly exhausted and sore all over. Like I am only 28 this year, how…
Don’t leave your name off a PowerPoint.
One of my goals for the year was to make a presentation at mid year and again at end of year detailing the cost savings I’ve made over the previous 6 months. I liked this because saving the company money = job security. I busted my ass on this presentation including staying until 10pm the night before just to polish it. Presentation went beautifully. boss and the other person on my level had some slides in there as well and they winged it good enough. Even got a glowing mid year review thanks, in no small part, to the presentation and the projects in it. I’d discover very quickly that I made a fatal omission. I’d learn that the next day, my boss took that presentation, showed it to the executives, and parlayed that into a promotion and a raise. I got jack shit. Because he claimed both the presentation…
Little backstory: This happened a while back but I was able to recently report this to the Department of Justice. TLDR: Redditor asked about using 1099 employees and increasing the number of his employees to receive more funds. Many people commented including myself on the original post telling him how illegal it is to do this. (this post was of course taken down by him within hours) Don't worry I got a video recording of the original post here Coincidentally he went to his Instagram the next day and deleted the two exotic cars he purchased with the PPP loans which was obvious being they were purchased the same week he was approved for the funds. Literally can't make this up -Thats why I had to make a video on it. I reported all the posts to the Department of Justice because this guy thought was was real slick. Hopefully…
This wasn't around before the 21st century, from what I've gathered. Is it to cover their asses when they inevitably want to fire you for no reason, or just managers on powertrips justifying being paid double your salary? Either way, it's so exhausting how they're everywhere now, and you gotta spend hours every few months getting patronized like you're a kid in elementary school. Damn I hate it here gestures vaguely towards workplaces. Rant over.
We’ve been hurting for people for a while now, and they are trying to ramp up production even more. Bosses keep saying they interview but no one accepts the jobs. Had a boss finally say the, “no one wants to work anymore” line. I turned around and called him out on it. “That’s bullshit. It’s not that no one wants to work. It’s that no one wants to work for shit wages anymore. You post this position for $30+ an hour, and you’ll have people knocking down the door to get in.” The look on his face was priceless, as he stood there with his mouth hung wide open.
