Hello all, I had internal job opportunity inside company, but my Manager rejected it when my new hire Manager talked with him. So I stayed in the same group and lost that job opportunity. Can Manager reject your job opportunity ? Internal or external company. Is that illegal ? Thank you

Looking to lightly mess with my managers
The office staff at my job (managers+admin) suck, and I'm looking to make their daily work lives slightly more tedious/annoying/difficult, without giving us more lowly staff any issues. Any ideas?
Advice while Asking for a raise
Let me know if this isnt the rifht sub for this or if there is a better one. I'm looking to ask for a raise at my job next week. I have been there 1 year now, I did receive a raise on the new year but that was a cost of living raise (which also factors in preformance) but I want to be able to ask for a raise after being here 1 year. Here are some details on my year here, i do want to preface this by saying its a small company who treats me really well but i need more momey cause life is expensive. Our CEO quit so we all jad to pick up some extra duties to help out while he was gone, for me this included working on our advertising campaign. We hired a new guy since I suggested we should while a…
I know some people work more but many of us work four which is still the majority of the week. What kind of stupid society do we live in when the majority of our week is dedicated to work and not our families and hobbies?
Old is my superpower
I am now at an age when I can choose to retire early. My pensions are enough that I can walk out of work and just retire tomorrow. I plan on working for another 2 years, possibly 3 before I retire a bit more comfortably but the fact that I can walk tomorrow is wonderfully freeing. I WFH (since COVID) and was told on Friday that I needed to move back into the office. There is no real reason as I work on servers that could be anywhere, even I don't know where they are and work 'with' a group of people most of whom I have never met and do not work in the same site as my home site or even each other (I work for a multinational). I would be sitting in an office with people I don't know or work with (even my boss works at…
WFH – Generating memories
Hey, I am working 100% from Home since March 2020. Since then I only visited the Offices of my various employers a couple of Times. First, I never want to go back to mandatory office hours. I work 40-45 hours per week and have the feeling besides work I only get cool Things done on weekends. During the week I rarely have any energy left. My currently employer sits 3-4 hours away. I moved to a smaller City because of cheaper rent and less crazy athmossphere. So I can't go to the office on a regular anymore. I love remote work but also feel I do not generate any worthy memories or stories anymore. Nobody (me included) care about my Highlight last monday where I made 2 Cappuccino instead of one. All my good and also bad and crazy Work related Stories always happened in the office. I think about…
Rant Work at a Maccies as a shift manager and they are always going on about beating record hours , days , weeks in terms of sales ( and various other blagged conflicting targets ) and whenever we beat one there's a big celebration in the group chat or another manager will be beaming with pride eager to share with me how they beat some record. It takes a surprising amount of energy out of me to feign an ounce of enthusiasm for these accomplishments, good news everyone, we made our franchise owner more cash than ever! Now back to work. What is there to be excited about when I'm removed from the benefit of the extra work it takes to achieve that new record? Also beating sales records is inevitable when you consider the prices go up which is something no one seems to realise. Don't get me wrong…
I won my case with the state vs Northrop
I just got the overnight email telling me I was not at fault for my termination and honestly, I've never felt so vindicated in my life. We live in an at-will state and my question is, if the state believes me, should I speak to an attorney now? I want the gates of hell to come down on everyone involved. However, it might be healthier and less risky to just move on and take the W. I start my new job on Wednesday so not sure if it is worth it or not and wanted to hear some opinions. The story isn't that great. I was an exec chef – one of only a handful of Northrop's that permanently hire a kitchen staff – and one of our employees decided to come up with an elaborate story about how I threw a knife across the kitchen. In reality, I overcooked…
Take their houses.
I wrote houses, not homes on purpose. Don't put percentage tax on properties people own. If you have more than two for yourself, the state is stealing it. I don't give a shit. What are you going to do? Stop the U.S. army? Leave? Good. You can have ONE more property, per child you have. If you got ten kids and sign a contract that entitles your child to that property, fine. If you have 20 properties, no kidd, the government is LITERALLY taking 18 of your properties. Justification? You're a greedy evil bastard and you're lucky people don't k*** you.
