I'm in college. I wanted to work during the holidays, but they don't want me anywhere. They call, say they will get back to you, but the phone is silent. It's hard for me to find a job because of health problems. I would prefer to work from home, but the only remote offer is a call center, where you have to humiliate yourself to make money. I'm still financially dependent on my parents and it just depresses me.

Don’t know if this is quite the right story for this sub, but figured I’d post it and see what everyone thinks. This happened a couple of years ago. My boss owns several stores. Where I worked which was about a 20 minute drive from home, I delivered construction material. One of the other stores they owned that’s in the town I live in, delivers house hold stuff like appliances and furniture. And important to note, where I worked, we closed 1 hour before the other store. They seemed to think that because I lived in the town as the other store, I’d drop everything to help them out. That afternoon closer to 1pm, one of my coworkers told me the other store phoned, telling me I had to help with a delivery in their last few hours, past the time when my store closes. I am suing my boss for wrongful termination. This week we have a trial.., but I happened to see my boss being extremely happy today. This is different from the expectation I had. I thought the company would have done something to her by now (such as suspension) after seeing what she has done to me. I have all the evidence of her wrongdoing. The company did not care. EEOC told me to forget about EEOC and move on with my life until they call me a year later or so. My lawyer said we will have a good lawsuit, but the way company allows her to continue in her position makes me believe this may not be true. What is the meaning of lawsuit? I feel like nothing will change as no one cares

I know last time it was about retirement age. With the shooting of this individual is that together or separate? Also, is it uncommon to be killed by police there? Not sure where else to ask. Sincerely, A dumb American
