I reported my boss for violating my rights by trying to coerce me to stay at work. She spoke with the big bosses and completely lied about me. She said I spread the video of her “private home” to the workforce (which I did not) she retaliated against me and fired me on the spot for reporting her to her boss because “I went over her head” I am getting in touch with a lawyer about my legal options here. The company is Waffle House inc.
Bootstraps or something
Asked for too low of a raise?
I am the manager of a small business retail store, and finally asked for a raise today. I was making $18/hr, asked for $19/hr and immediately got it. I was going to ask for at least $20, but felt that would be an impossible request. After my boss said yes, she replied “fine, i’ll give you a raise, but as soon as you leave, i’m starting the manager new manager at 17$.” Im sick feeling greedy asking for a breadcrumb raise. For reference, I live in the DC metro area and the cost of living here is so high. I also have to commute 30+ minutes to the store and am 6 months pregnant without the opportunity to get paid maternity leave. I had an opportunity to actually negotiate my salary and feel like i cut myself short.
Asking for time off
Just got a new job for the summer, and forgot to ask for the days off i need. I start Tuesday, the days i need off include Friday and the next Tuesday. No clue how to even go about asking but I desperately need the friday off. I’m working for the company for 7 weeks, full time and need 4 days off. Why do i feel so bad about asking time off?
Oh look. They are starting to notice.
I applied for a position at a community college and was asked to make an 8-10 minute video on the history of a school and it’s current programs. I feel like they’re looking for free marketing content, along with applicants. Thoughts?
