For context I work at a fastfood restaurantand I've been there for 6 months. I get paid $11 an hour. Recently we've been getting a lot of new hires who have been getting paid 12.50 to 13 an hour. Every time I bring it up to my general manager she says that employees aren't supposed to discuss wages and ends the conversation. What should I do? Any help would be appreciated

Seriously. That's all it will take to fix shit. Before u retch too far and pull a muscle, hear me out. Everybody knows somebody unemployed, get them to sit your kids. Take them to daycare. Switch shifts at work. Whatever. Just find someone to watch your kids while u work. Very important, follow the letter of the law to homeschool your kids. U may have to prove u have an education such as a diploma or GED, u may have to send a letter of intent, u may have to register with the school district to do testing for your kids. Whatever. Do that. There are great homeschool resources all over the place and lawyers available through those groups which u can join and they can help with any fine details, or inevitably, slap back if the school gets mouthy about it. As the title says, my last job (which I made it 2 days into my 2 week notice before quitting on the spot) apparently didn’t remove my address from a mailing list. I had 4 boxes show up at my house. I know they’re for a project for this company but I’m not sure how much each one set them back. This job was killing my mental health and the work climate was pretty much like how everyone on here deals with. Shitty direct supervisor, no pay increases for the lowest employees, people would get fired or quit and then their work would have to get absorbed by other workers. Just a shit company. Should I take the high road and let them know if their mistake and get the boxes to them, or do I use them for target practice? What would you do?

Hey! I got this job doing 12h shifts, long and short week in really big car manufacturer. I'm in low position but I can speak English and I have nice results in terms of work understanding and overall working great. I can get promotional, because my work ethic and English skills for being able to teach new foreigns later ( also if I manage to learn Russian or UA I can be really useful for them, almost like a gem ). My supervisor began to groundlessly accuse me of theft, vandalism, substance abuse, tardiness, absenteeism, lying, and gossiping at workplace. This began after getting my HR accommodations approved for disabilities. I denied having done such things, but said I will continue to make sure these things do not occur. I had the paper trail, evidence, and witness to clear myself from such allegations. Nothing was done to address the false allegations. My supervisor fired me for the following reasons A. Unwillingness to take constructive feedback -Every feedback given by the supervisor was met with denial, deflection, claims of discrimination and harassment instead of taking personal accountability for her actions, deficiencies, and progress. -Thus, the supervisor is unable to provide adequate progress updates and assist her in improving her skills. [Posting from privacy-enhanced account] Since yesterday, I am no longer an employee at BigCompany (I won't disclose the name for obvious reasons). I've spent 13 years there and became a key element yet they fired me (with a nice severance package 🙂 BigCompany decided that I was not worth the expense and my job could probably be done for less by someone else in Bangalore : In the eyes of accounting I am just a resource and a resource anywhere else should be equivalent to me so why spend 5 times more ? Except I was way more experienced and knowledgeable than my colleagues in India who would change jobs every 6 months. They are now left with rookies with huge challenges ahead. I wish them the best, I bought a barrel of popcorn with my unemployment benefits 🙂 I can't stop laughing.

I had a payment of over $600/mo. I went to a state school and was lucky to only have just over $30k when I refi’d (graduated with $24k, my monthly payment when I did start paying didn’t cover the monthly interest accrual). After I refinanced, the monthly payment caused me to be severely limited in what I could do on a regular basis financially.
