Manager forcing me to transfer locations or I’m fired

Just the other day I'm sitting at my desk getting work done when my manager tells me that starting in 2 weeks I'm starting new at a different location down the street. Because someone over there left and that locations manager doesn't want to hire someone. This other location and it's manger is renowned for toxicity, depression, and never being allowed time off. Among other skeezy things. I'm a good worker who puts his head down and gets his work done, but I've been singled out to take this shitty proposition or else. I've told my manager that I have no interest and just straight up don't want to go, but I was told to either go to the new location or I'm fired. Please, what do I do.

Are we having trouble finding work because schools don’t fully prepare most of us for the jobs we are applying for?

For example, teachers often speak of “meeting students where they’re at” instead of pushing them to develop certain analytical/critical thinking skills. I know employers can have ridiculously unrealistic expectations as well.

Do I have bad integrity for calling off on my second to last day of work?

I’m a 17 (F) and my second to last day of work is coming up and my parents are trying to pressure me into going and saying I have bad integrity for not wanting to go. First of all, the company doesn’t care about me and they’ve already replaced me tenfold. Second of all, it’s a closing shift, and I literally can’t stand those for the life of me. I feel so much dread and anxiety and horror just thinking about going one more time, and my parents know this. I say that the company is lucky that I (1) even put a two weeks notice in and that I (2) am only “skipping” one day. I just don’t see any value whatsoever of going. At all. All this “it shows your character and makes you feel good” is just a bunch of bullshit. Just not sure how to feel.

Rule 2 was imposed because of me, instead of staring at a wall for hours I would read.

I worked for a fuel center for Kroger a few years ago. My job consisted of sitting in a small room out by the pumps to sell cigarettes, small snacks, and gas to people, and to monitor things. I had to stock the coolers and cigarettes, take out trash, and keep things clean. All my daily tasks took maybe 1.5 hours to complete. Other than monitoring things between customers and keeping an eye on the pumps, I would read my book, because there was nothing fucking else to do but stare it a wall for 6 hours. Apparently that's preferable to me reading a book. Like, I was consistently doing my job, why is it such a problem? Kroger was one of the worst places I worked, honestly.

Anyone else hate how customers want you to help them INSTANTLY?

I was walking up to Albertsons as a Karen type looking lady was walking out. She shouted “I need help!” to the worker who was pushing up a line of 10-12 shopping carts, and it’s already over 100 degrees. If she needed help that’s fine, but I mean at least recognize what he was trying to do, let him finish putting them back, then walk over and ask. Was he supposed to instantly let the carts go and roll back into the parking lot? Maybe even the lady could have said something (once he was done) like “Sorry to bother you on this hot day, but I need assistance please. If you need to, get some water first” etc Lol maybe I’m looking way too much into this but I mean the lack of consideration/compassion nowadays is just insane

An hour is taken out of my paycheck for lunch, but I never get to actually clock out and eat.

Hello fellow grunts, I currently work at an airport doing baggage full-time which consists of 13 hour days, 3 days a week. I have been with the company about a year now and they always take an hour out of your paycheck (30 min if shift is under 6 hours), but they never let you clock out and actually take the hour break. We have small miniature breaks in between planes and sometimes these can last a while if a plane gets delayed. They say that is our hour break even though we are still on the clock and it is split up in smaller portions. Is this allowed? I used to just kind of ignore it because no one ever said anything and I didn’t want to be the person to speak up and be targeted for it. But our company is piling a ton of more work on…
