The entire system is a joke, Walmart drives out reasonably priced local businesses by taking a loss until those businesses fail and then jumps their prices way up, target is so anti theft that they'll keep tabs on how much stuff people stole just to bag them on felony charges, Amazon hates it's employees so much that they're running out of people they haven't blacklisted yet Honestly, fuck em, general strike. Can't eat? Steal food. Corporations aren't people and the people that run those corporations know full well they don't run without human suffering. Need smokes and auto parts? Oriellys and Autozone forcibly displace local auto parts stores because they can buy in bulk, and 7/11 actively hates anybody not using their stores to buy stuff being within like 3 blocks. General strike, but don't be a coward
Month: July 2023
I know it’s not that easy. I know that everyone is one paycheck away from homelessness. But with the way this country is heading, I promise you, we’re all going to end up priced out of housing anyway. Inflation is only going to get worse. Housing, education, everything is only going to get worse. Billionaires own politicians on both sides. If conservatives keep winning & getting their way & democrats keep doing nothing about it, they might as well be their accomplices as far as I see it. Ik the responses I’m gonna get to this post—nobody can afford to strike or lose their healthcare. Yeah I can’t afford to lose everything either. I’m right there with you. But at this point I think we’re all SOL. Maybe we aren’t ready right now. I mean massive organization takes a long time to plan, so this would likely take place some…
Thanks Justice Ginsberg
For not retiring from the Supreme Court even after you were begged by President Obama
It's time to stop just watching the country burn. Its time for people to organize in DC, in front of the Supreme Court on the 4th of July, and loudly voice our opposition to this flagrancy of this country. It's time to gather and organize as people, and use the power we have as a collective. Its time I get up and try to change something, or i'm afraid it never will.
Paid Leave/Vacation
I just wanted to make this post because I always found it insane how little personal days and vacation we are awarded for employment generally. Do you guys think 3 months of paid leave/vacation a year should be mandatory? This might seem random but it is something I think about all the time. Our lives are filled with work with very little time to do anything else and it’s just weird that it’s so normal. It will probably never happen but I think it would be such a good policy. We’ll still work 3/4 of the year so it’s not like we won’t be still spending most of our lives working or anything but it’s a good start.
You guys need to read some of my posts and replies. None of this comes as a surprise to me and shouldn’t to anyone who realizes that the US government hates Americans and with a passion. https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/13g7kho/how_can_we_get_the_fucking_government_to_side/
But she gives me shit about putting in sick leave 1 hour early to see a doctor. Never mind that I shouldn't even have to use up sick leave being that official policy is that supervisor can give employees an hour off at their discretion
