So, I recently started a new job at a publicly traded company after being out of work for a year, what this company seems to be doing is at the end of every quarter they ship orders to an offsite warehouse to make it look like it was a sale even when the customer hasn’t confirmed purchase yet so they can pump up their numbers for the quarterly earnings report, fairly certain that’s fraud. Who would I report that to if I needed to? Should I just leave the company before shit hits the fan?
Month: July 2023
I am a janitor, working for a janitorial company that contracts itself out to various locations. I clean at a school. One of the teachers is an absolute witch to the point I was warned about her when I moved to this location. She harassed the previous janitor so much that the janitor requested to be moved to a different location. She has also tried to frame another janitor for stealing her personal items and get them fired. (The school staff investigated this and nothing had been stolen). I've been working here for over a year and she has been nothing but rude to me. Normally I just ignore her best I can and do my job. These past few weeks though, she's been escalating things. The most contentious thing is her trash. She's constantly complaining I never take out her trash. Many days she leaves her classroom locked, I…
I’m 27f, have a small child, and my job has been getting to me the entire 2.5 years I’ve had it. I’ve busted my ass so hard at said job that I lost 120 pounds. So many days of being alone and running the whole thing on my own. Before I even started this job I was diagnosed with severe anxiety, severe depression, and bipolar. I’ve done really good though as a giant goal of mine was to find a nice place to live for my kid and I. This month has been awful for my mental… I’ve been calling off because of panic attacks which lead me to being broke and stressed. My boyfriend of 10 years or so was in the hospital for his own mental health issues and I’ve been trying to take care of him since he got out. But I guess it triggered my own.…
Got fired after only 3 days
So, I started a business for myself doing electronic repairs. It isn't bad but, since it's just starting out, I don't have a lot of clientele so, I needed a steady paycheck. A recruiter reached out to me about a job working for the IT service desk at my local power company. Pay sounded amazing so I followed up. During the interview, I was honest about the fact that I had my own business that I was running and asked if there would be any issues. The boss over the contract company, the in-house IT and the head of the full IT department all agreed that there would be no issues with me also running my business while working there. Nothing else was said about it. Three days into working for them, I receive a phone call during my lunch break in the break room. There is nobody else in…
Jobfished by nursing agency
I'm almost a registered nurse completing an integrated masters. I was offered a job with an agency as a nursing assistant that paid £13-£19 complex behaviour and needs which is my specialism. These units have lower numbers. The agency cat fished me and are sending me to huge nursing homes with 60 beds and 4 staff on £10.42 . Many needing full hoists. They said its not a large nursing home 60 beds isn't big? The residents weigh like 200lb and im 123lb. I am not fucking my back up for min wage. I told them all generic nursing homes are the same I've worked in them before and they still keep trying to book me on those shifts. Fucking liars , luckily I'm signing for a job with the hospital. I love caring for people but I ain't ruining my health for a company that doesn't care about me…
Years ago, by sheer luck, I managed to land a high paying (IT) networking job at a high speed trading company in London. I had worked there for slightly over 7 years when my mother in law got cancer and my wife wanted to return to our home country to take care of her. I stayed behind because I was allowed to work from home 2 days a week. So I spent first 3 days of each week in UK and 4 in my home country. The 8 short flights a month were easily doable. This went on for half a year. Trouble started when they hired a new hotshot MBA manager who saw that I wasn't flexible enough with my home office days. He started organising team building activities and “all hands meetings” for Thursdays/Fridays and would always point out that I'm not there being a part of the…
Earlier this morning, I got denied a job after having 2 interviews with the recruiters. First a phone call, then a video interview. They said they will keep my resume if they become aware if any appropriate positions open up in the near future. I asked what positions those future positions might be and they said to look on their website. Should I ask to delete my resume? I don’t understand why they would want to keep in touch with me for potential future positions if they said to look them up myself. I feel like they may be sharing my resume with 3rd parties but idk
Are my expectations too high?
So I am employeed at a big box retail. 3 years with the company as assistant manager at 2 locations within the region. Strictly there for the $$. Loathe the employee “politics” (my team would never know how despicable my thoughts are) , but can customer service outta thin air. Anywho, in those 3 years, I've worked under 5 different SM's and 3 DM's. It's a very networky, cliquey, “boys club” environment. Not me at all, I'm there to do a job and turn a profit. I don't need more friends. Therefore in an effort to escape that “posse”, I've expressed interest in becoming the SM at a new location slated to be opened. Consequently, this new DM feels I need a “project” to further my development and prove my “worthiness” as a new SM. Ultimately, this is simply a way to get me to travel to a store 130…
My perv boss thinks I’m into him
I have 2 bosses who are the owners of the store the owner who was around when I was hired is great, super understanding, everyone loves him. The owner he switched off with to go back home for a few months is hated by almost everyone he creeps out the female customers with flirting, Makes lactation jokes when my coworker shirt gets worse, stares at my chest and insists he's just reading my shirt I've worn repeatedly and he's said he was reading multiple times before. Now here's where he thinks I'm into him, we are allowed to play music at work and I just shuffle my Spotify and I have a few love songs and he in a fully serious tone says that because I play love songs I'm showing I find him attractive. He knows my boyfriend and I've told him more than once to give me space…
