After almost a year of work in this company and delivering my work without any issue (until now I was told that I make really good job so) received formal warning beacuse I communicated problem with one task. Now boss is all over my ass and and I'm seriously considering leaving. I like the job and the company, but this one move which I don't even understand killed my attitude and I do not care about fixing it. Funny how one asshole event can destroy whole motivation and enjoyment.

Another sleepless night
I work in a small department and I have been here the longest. Longer than my boss or any of my team, including another manager that reports to the same boss. The stress from work is giving me insomnia. Tonight, it’s the fact that I’m trapped working for this boss and with this awful coworker. I seriously question their judgment, and I’m so fucking sick of them taking credit for my work. I’m so sick of them making my job harder and always undermining my progress and kudos. I’m sick that my own success is linked to these two people — one of which is a cruel and conniving person; the other simply self involved and entitled. They are an echo chamber of irrelevant ideas and impractical solutions, usually to problems that don’t even exist. I know the answer is to find a new job. Im working on it. In…
It keeps getting worse.
I work at a fast food chain. I get paid 8.75 after working here for almost 10 months with 0 right ups or complaints (saying that because people with right ups still get raises of a few cents and for some reason I still haven’t). Recently somehow the store lost $3,000 from cashier errors or stealing (which I was not involved in or new of). But of course everyone gets punished and now discounts have changed to only if the food you buy is $10 or less and I believe we only get 1 free drink when we used to get however many. When we are on shift we are also no longer allowed to use store cups and have to bring our own even though we are supposed to get free drinks but apparently we have “lost money in cups”. Also yesterday we got a group chat message saying…
Communist Romania was better than Israel today. Administrative workers could treat clients as they saw fit. If a client behaved badly, the Romanian worker could stand up for himself without the risk of losing his job. Clients treated secretaries like kings. Soviet Russia was the same. Service workers didn't have to put a smile on their faces and deal with whatever bullshit the client threw at them. They could respond to cases as they saw fit and f*ck everyone else. Communism is the only economical system that considers the fact that workers are humans with feelings and emotional distress, and doesn't discriminate them for collapsing.
Pretty much title. There's a blue-collar industrial company a friend of mine works for where you get attendance points based on when you notify them you aren't able to be there. So, no call no shows = 1 point; call out less than 30 min in advance =0.5 points. He insists leaving early, so long as you tell your sup, doesn't cause accrual of points. And this will eventually cause write ups and ding ya on your review. This bullshit about PTO is not that. According to my friend, if you have less than 30 hours of PTO, you can't score higher than a 3/5 on the performance review. You still get a raise–but not as much as a 4/5, 5/5–which feels like a penalty. Is this legal? And either way, isn't it bullshit?
I am in university and work around 30 hours a week to support myself as I have no parental support, I do this on minimum wage at a company that owns a few of different cafes and restaurants so I bounce around between them ( I am a trained barista) I have been doing this for around 7 months, about a month ago I asked to be put on living wage instead of minimum as the responsibilities that I have are worth far more then minimum, I open and close by myself often, I do cash up, balance the tills and do the banking forms, I train other employees often, order supply’s, and do stocktake all while still doing the regular barista work and often working by myself in the small cafes, I effectively do the work of a manager a lot of the time. I also realised that many…
Missing work due to back pain
I've been off work now for a week, I called in for 3 days due to back pain. The third day I called in, I was told I can't come back to work until I've been cleared by a doctor, which I can't get into til next week. I've hurt my back at work a couple times and have had both of them written up, but never followed up in any way past the paper work. I'm not sure if the back pain I'm dealing with now is work related or not. Can I be fired for missing work because of this? I live in an at will employee state so I know I can be fired for pretty much anything, but could I take some sort of legal action if I was fired for missing work for back pain that may or may not be work related?
Says they are only looking to hire 1 more person. Went from being 2 people on shift to now only ever 1 on shift with all of us working over our contracted hours. A nightmare place to work.
Should I Make Less Money?
Should I make less money? I hate my job with a fiery passion of a million suns. However, it affords me a lifestyle which I consider comfortable. All my bills get paid every month and I can save around a hundred dollars. I have been looking everywhere for a new job that pays around the same but that I would either enjoy or could not hate myself while doing. I finally found the job of my dreams but after negotiating salary the best they are willing to do is 22% lower then I make now. Is quality of life worth an extra $6 an hour?
New sick policy
Recently the sick policy changed to where everybody gets 3 weeks sick time whether they are salary or an hourly employee. I'm wondering we used to be able to save our sick time and it would roll over each year and eventually we would get paid out for it or be able to use it for an emergency if we had to be off for like a month or two. Now we cannot roll over our sick time each year any sick time that is not used will be lost and we will all start with a new 3 weeks every new year. I do not see any incentive to not use all the time. If it gets lost at the end of the year why would we not all use all three weeks. And if they're giving us that 3 weeks I don't see how we can get in…
