I really want to share my experience that completely traumatized me and made me anti work. In 2017, I moved across the country to have a fresh start in a big city. I found a job working for a pretty small start up company, about 15 employees or so. The office was open concept, but the CEO and CFO had their own rooms and for the most part, were there everyday. There was no HR, which of course, I should’ve seen as a massive red flag. Despite accrued sick time being mandatory per state law, we never received any. I was “lucky” to get 10 PTO days a year, which I always allocated to go home and visit my parents around Thanksgiving and Christmas time. Fast forward to June of 2019. I’m sick of having to explain to my bosses that I don’t want to travel for 90 minutes each way just to be in Teams meetings in the office when they can just as easily be done remotely from home.

I had an absolutely TERRIBLE boss at one of my former workplaces who left/got fired earlier this year (I left before him, thank God) and I can’t state enough how vehemently I disliked him and how terrible of a person he was. He hasn’t been able to find a new job since that happened, but I was cruising on LinkedIn earlier and I noticed he hasn’t updated his position on there, even though he’s otherwise incredibly active on it, and I want to somehow warn people how terrible he was. Working with him severely impacted my and other coworkers mental health, and I want to somehow help any potential future employer and employees of his from making a terrible mistake. Is there a way to do so without it looking bad on my end?

Planning on leaving this shitshow of a small company soon. I was going through the employee handbook at work to “look” busy and noticed that we have to complete an exit interview if we quit for good. Will they ask me to sign things? I’ve scrolled around in the antiwork subreddit and some say yes some say no. Im leaving for much better pay and for my mental health. Condescending tones, stupendous amounts of micromanaging, long hours, stress on stress on stress. I cannot wait to leave!

My manager jumped in a little meeting that my team had today. My lead told me that we needed to turn our cameras on which I hate but I did it. Later, after the meeting he sent a message in the chat for everyone to get to into the habit of turning the camera on whenever there's a meeting and to be sure to remove our backgrounds. Can they do that ??

I love this forum, and always read but never post. I have something interesting from my past that relates though. In the mid 90's i was between jobs and went through a temp agency. The first job I had was laundry in industrial van size washing machines and dryers and it was miserable. Like REALLY miserable. Worst job ever for minimum wage. A week into that I was offered a spot at Olhausen billiards where they build pool tables. Thought that would be amazing! I loved to play pool, and how cool woulf it be to work there. Well, not cool at all it turns out. The warehoise had a ” no talking ” rule and we would do 10 hour days assembling pool tables. We werent allowed to use walkmans or talk. A huge warehouse area where each person worked on one pool table. Everyone hated working there, and…

this is a long rant about this damn job….. im already job hunting .. but i gotta get it off my chest…. ​ i currently work at a gas station / truck stop , on the weekends overnight. so just 3 nights a week and its managed to pay my bills , and put a little money back . thats all i wanted , because i dont WANT to work…. who does? ​ overnight shift is solo .. and im expected to get my whole to do list done… now i can get most of it done… since its not too busy .. i maybe see 40 people max in 8 hours… but there are things on the list i cant do while solo … like run outside and restock the pizza freezer , or run to the backroom to restock cooler. so even from the day i started i…
