Hi, sorry for formatting, im on mobile. So, I've been working as a data analyst at a large company for about a year now, and I need some advice on what i should do in this situation. For some background, when I joined the company, I was added to a brand new team, along with my coworkers, who were also fairly new to the company. From day one, none of us received proper training and were never given clear responsibilities. Our boss (this is his first management position), started micromanaging us. He gets upset about tasks we didn't even know we were supposed to do, and he's often unreasonably mean and condescending when we don't meet his unclear expectations. Theres a lot of things hes done/said that has upset me and my coworkers in private and in public. I wont get into all of it because its a lot, but…

Odd Question
I applied for a job with a legitimate, professional organization. I got a email from the supervisor, not offering an interview date or anything else but a single question: We see you are in (our area) what brought you south? I’ve got nearly 20 years in this field, I am well qualified. I’m from the northeast US, I’m new to the south. It’s not a bad question, my accent gives me away and I will answer that in person. It just strikes me as odd that’s the only question. Part of me wants to say I’ll be happy to answer as part of my interview, when do you want to meet? The other part says bless your heart but I’m not answering and thanks for thinking about me. Thoughts?
Just got fired without reason
Well the title says it all. I've never been fired from a job so I'm taking this pretty hard. I never got a reason, I also have never been written up, I always complete everything as asked, I am always early and come in extra when needed. Needless to say I'm still in shock and this happened about 7 hours ago. I wish I had more to the story and I wish I knew why I was fired. Like if I was messing something up why wouldn't they say anything and I would have corrected it? I just don't understand. I never even call off! UGH
So I work a shitty retail job as a supervisor, I'm very class conscious and my girlfriend (soon to be fiance) is being exploited at her job. She works at a firm and is working on several projects at once almost all the time. As I'm typing this i have been home for an hour and a half after my closing shift, and she still isnt home. Ive been on the phone with her for the entire time to keep her company, but all that happens is I run out of things to say while i listen to her tapping away on the keyboard. It is currently 11 pm and she has been working since 8 am. This happens extremely often due to a shitty senior coworker at her office who dislikes her and delegates her more work than she can handle. Ive tried telling her on several occasions a…
Words of encouragement
As a business owner, it's been interesting to lurk on here and I see a lot different views. I think I can separate these posts into 2 categories… 1) people that genuinely want a successful career, but get into bad employment situations and 2)people that are just never going to be happy under any circumstances. There are good companies out there and you shouldn't be discouraged from working hard or “extra” to get ahead. I really can be fruitful under good management. For example, I bonus out all my salaried employees quarterly to recognize extra hours and extra effort. I have long term plans for many of my younger workers that will eventually net them very good incomes. I kind of feel there is an unspoken contract that if you make me money today then I'll hook you up later. Don't be afraid to take the long view. Loyalty is…
Absolutely disgusting
No more shitter
Boss is tired of paying plumber so he said restrooms are closed and brought a single porta potty for 20 people to share…. I have a disability ( ulcerative colitis ) so time to call OSHA, the health dept and the ADA This is in Yukon Oklahoma just FYI
That's it. I hate what America has become. It shouldn't be this hard to live.
From Toronto, we work for number 2 retail in Canada and Metro has offered us a deal that will have average full timer making 23.70 by 2027. We've been open during covid, filling shelves and being exposed to the virus. While Metro stock has increased by 60% and made 992 million pure profit. Greedy corporations needs to be accountable to have employees to a liveable wage. Toronto being one of the most expensive city in the world. 23.75 by 2027 would be a joke. Thanks for the support
So a few years before the pandemic hit, I wound up with a mysterious chronic pain condition and qualified for benefits that were just enough to make it so I didn't have to work at all. Things just sort of fell into the right spot. Since then, the pain condition has gone away. In 2019, the period of time during which food stamps would be available without work requirements came to an end. And then the pandemic hit. Since then the state has been extending the amount of time food stamps would be available without work requirements for obvious reasons, specifically due to the “high unemployment rate” as they say on the site. However, the end of the latest extension is coming in October, and since they haven't released another extension notice by now it's a pretty good chance that they're going to make me find another job again. I…
