What are some ways to shut down verbally abusive management/managers that enjoy bullying staff?

I was recently fired from my office job, and to be frank I was kind of relieved. It was for excessive tardies. I will admit there were a couple times I was 10-15 minutes late due to traffic or a line at the gas station, but the majority of the tardies were because I honestly hated the job so much that I cried the whole drive and couldn't leave my car in the parking lot. I started that position in March and my boss became more and more rude and condescending with me each day over the course of my employment, like calling me an alcoholic in front of staff because I asked about how many wine bottles to bring for the paint and sip team builder, questioning my intelligence in front of the department multiple times over simple misunderstandings/miscommunications within the team, going into way too much detail about…

ONT: Mandatory meetings every Monday, what are night shift workers rights?

Hello. I work 4 x 4, 12 hour days(1hr lunch) and one shift consists of 2 days 2 nights back to back. It will be 7am-7pm of days, 7pm-7am of nights, sometimes 3 nights after 2 days instead of two. My supervisor has mandatory meetings at 8am every Monday that run until 11pm. He works 8-4 Monday to Friday so it works great with him. He told us if we don’t attend, we will face consequences. I asked how does that work with night shift because we work 7pm-7am for night shifts(usually 3-4 Mondays of nights in a row) and he told me that ‘if I were you, i would show up regardless’ Is this actually required of me or is this unfair? I can’t imagine staying up 20+ hours just because of meetings and messing up my sleeping schedule even more then it is. If I stay up every…

Company retroactively not paying

I'll keep it short: I work from home and received notification of a policy on a Friday (a few weeks ago) that effective that previous Monday, we would not be paid for our internet going out. This was not the policy previously. Per the state DOL's website, this seems to be illegal. Anyone have something similar happen?

Screw Indeed.ca Remote Work algorithm

Their algorithm prioritizes any mention of “Remote” and filters it as a remote job, even the “Hybrid Remote” positions that require you onsite for 3 / 5 days. Strongly suggest reporting every single post you see flagged as “Remote” as inaccurate. They waste our time we should waste theirs forcing them to manually review.

My workplace is trying to get rid of me for no reason but I found out and am wondering what went wrong

This is going to be a slightly long post, but i would love to know what exactly have I done wrong here. A little backstory: I am in Pakistan, have a law degree. The working conditions for lawyers in Pakistan arr extremely abysmal. The first pay that i got after a month of work was 70$ and that point i realized this was a poor profession with poor opportunities. Mind you that in Pakistan a decent salary to run your own house is about 1000$-1500$ per month. Till about 2020 i was earning around 500-750 per month and had to struggle for my living. In 2020, i finally thanked my good fortune when i got a teaching opportunity at law school which paid about 750 per month and where i was working as visiting faculty on an 11 month contract renewed annually every august. I started off very well and…

Finally got a job after 2 years of inactivity. Got fired as soon as they legally could.

Hi, I finally got a job that suits me the best as an IT technician in a small shop. It reminded me a lot of when I started working in IT. The people were nice and they gave me a real good feeling. They've been looking for someone for 3 years and saw nearly 10 people coming in and being fired because some didn't really know the trade and others not fitting in the team. My job was to sell IT stuff in the shop but also mainly take computers in for repair, re-install, troubleshoot and so on. You know, the kind of work that small IT businesses have. The team really liked me since apparently I was the only guy after 3 years coming in and knowing the stuff. Management liked me too. During the interview they told me that it was really usual to take 2 to 3…
