Some jobs need doing, and some one has got to do them. I work in health care, you are sick, you need a healthcare working and doing their job, need a car mechanic, you need a mechanic to be at work, etc, etc. What I am , is anti low pay, anti poor holidays, and anti work/life balance. I wanted to go to the gym last night, but was so exhausted by work, that I had to go to bed instead, and I am not paid enough that I can ever retire early. I started work at 15 and have another 15 years of this at least, until I can retire and receive the lowest pension in Europe. The system is set up to keep you on the treadwheel and never let you go, until you are too old to be of good service.

So my boss has refused to give me a day to grieve for the death of my cousin. I asked for the day after the funeral off (it was on my off day) and he told me no and said going to the funeral should have been enough. He also said that time off is only given for immediate family and no where else would have given me time off. After crying on the phone he said I could come in for just half the day but that he could not give me the day off. I'm just wondering what my rights are and if this is normal. If anyone needs more info just ask. Thank you for any help.
Should I work more?
I moved to Pittsburg last year. Find a job in a big store I get work at 6.30 am every day and finish at 5 pm. it means I must wake up at 5.30 am and when I back home I feel really exhausted and I'm literally like a ghost. I work for $4500 a mounth however I'm struggled in bills. should I work more?
However, that is not the case. No matter how technology advances, there will always be a large workforce in a capitalist society. Governments and capitalists will not let that happen.
When a couple of other people quit at my job, they were terminated before the end of their two weeks, with cause. I don't see an advantage to this for the employer. And a follow up question, will those employees be at a disadvantage now? Will the causes of termination follow them as new employers call their old bosses?
Okay, so I'm disabled with a temporary disability that I've had more than a year. Back problems and a bit of an issue with my leg, just to simplify it. Location: Australia. This post is kind of a rant, sorry. I'm just really ticked off about the situation. In my cover letter I made this absolutely clear that I will need the option to sit. It was not a secret. I have been uploading this information along with every single job application I've done since becoming disabled. So yesterday I get a call from a potential employer about a job application I had done the other day, at a “luxury” retail business that has multiple stores within the city, including multiple shopfronts at the local mall. I go into the job interview and give him a quick overview of my work history. But I make sure to inform him of…
Tldr; I work at Aarons. I've had people, 2Xs in 2 days, answer the door with guns.. $13.00hr or Aarons shit just ain't worth my life, I have kids and want to see them grow up.. I'm 30. I won't say where I'm from other than rural N.C. I currently work for “Aarons” lease to own. making $13.00 per hour to be a CAA (customer accounts associate), and I have probably been there roughly 30 days. my job is to call the people who owe and when they don't answer essentially go to the address on file and see if the person still lives there and touch base with them , not repo or liquidize anything just what we call field visit, knock on doors.. so, for some reason, the past couple of days, I've encountered people answering the door with firearms. pistols, to be exact. I'm a man of…
I've been with this company almost a year and have actually liked it more that any other place I've work which actually makes this even more disappointing to me. My company has been in need of office workers willing to work evenings/nights and has used a pay increase for those willing to work those shifts. I'm a night owl and enjoy the extra bump in pay so I've gladly worked it. But I guess this hasn't been enough to get the amount of employees they desire so today they announced their solution: All employees will be mandated to work 4 evening/night shifts a month (these can be whenever they choose as long as that particular date is available). On top of that they're getting rid of the pay difference. Are they increasing the pay of everyone to the evening pay? Of course not! They're putting everyone else's down to the…
