$150 work outing
Alright, everyone.. I'm in a weird position here. My company is doing the typical thing. We need to boost moral around here but can't it can't be monetary. I have a 150 dollar budget to plan an event during work time for about 40 people. What would you plan? What ideas could actually be fun in a work environment? I'm not management, but have been given the task. So please don't shoot the idea seeking messenger. ANY advice would be amazing. Thank you! Edit: just so everyone knows we are doing whatever is chosen instead of working. It's not after hours.
USA Citizen here, interested to see what people have to say about this in 2023 on a couple different subs. What would you determine is an okay amount of time to call out of a job? Me personally, am diagnosed with mental illness so not calling out is very difficult for me. 2 times a month is usually average for me and I feel tremendous guilt over it.
My SO received a bonus of $10
After spending 5 weeks one-on-one with two interns in their last year of university, my SO received glowing feedback from both students and her manager. The feedback was sent up the chain and my SO received a card and a $10 gift voucher. I worked it out to be 0.13% extra over her gross income for those 5 weeks. Gee thanks.
I'm in Virginia and correct me if I'm wrong isn't this time theft?
Sick Pay (lack of)
So I took a few days off of work and I get my pay deducted. Should I have just turned up, not being able to actually work and infect all my colleagues??
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in biology 3 years ago and have been trying to find work in a medical lab ever since, but every place I applied wants me to be a certified MLT before hire. In order to get certified a person needs 6 months experience in a medical lab alongside their degree. Every job posting I’ve applied to indicates they’re willing to hire if the candidate can get certification completed within a year, but their application review programs automatically deny the application if you aren’t already certified. It’s so frustrating spending so many hours, weeks, and months job searching only to receive an automatic reply email 5-10 minutes after submitting an application and resume rejecting the application because I’m not already certified. I was even able to contact the HR department of one of the local hospitals who said they require MLT certification before…
How do I handle favortism?
Hi, so I have been noticing that one coworker can come and go as she pleases. She also takes lunches that may last an hour or more? Our shifts are from 8 to 430. She comes in at 830 or later and leaves at 430. Another thing is that I have been covering the phones and our secretaries when they are on lunch, as I am scheduled this way. This coworker is not put on the schedule to cover the secretaries, nor gets an assigned lunch. I am part of a union. However, I am not sure if the union rep can do anything…….or if that will get me anywhere. Please advise what I should do in this situation?
Yes or No question
Up vote yes Down vote no I work 16 hours a week, 3 days a week. Minium wage barely anything. I have a disability. The manager is passive aggressive he likes to text after you clock out to ask you questions about x,y,z. He triggers me sometimes on my days off. So I purposely block his number on my days off so he can't bother me. Would you guys do this too, if they really bothered your sanity? Up vote yes Down vote no
