Currently in the process of purchasing a house. On my Principal account, one of the withdrawal options is for that, just have to provide proof of a real estate contract. Ever since I started this job, I’ve always heard that the owner of our company has to approve it, regardless of if it’s considered an appropriate withdrawal by the IRS. Is this legal?? Can he legally deny my withdrawal when I get to that point even though it’s accepted by the IRS as a “hardship withdrawal”? Anyone ever have any experience with this? Thanks!
I got overpaid and didn’t find out
So I got over paid from August to December at my current job as a professor in KY. I knew I was getting paid more, but that was also during the time where I was taking on more classes on top of my regular load, so I thought everything was kosher. I checked on the status of my paycheck in January, and it revealed that HR had made a mistake, and I was input twice on the payroll system. Essentially, I was paid as two people. Now, they are docking my pay to pay for the overpayment, and it’s gonna take approximately three years to pay it back. Apparently, they have a policy where any instance of overpayment needs to be reported as soon as possible from the person receiving the paychecks, and that they are not responsible for alerting people. So now I’m getting paid like shit looking at…
People have a lot less control over their lives than people think, and it really is a lottery in terms of what life outcome you have. If you were born in a place like North Korea or Afghanistan, life is already over before it begun. Let’s not kid ourselves Even in America, people have little control over their lives. I have seen people who work hard every single day, yet they still can’t meet the physical requirements needed to join the military. Many people spend 60 hours studying per week and still can’t understand the concept of fractions no matter how much they bang their head. I have seen people who work hard everyday and bend backwards for others, yet no company would give them a chance by hiring them. Many people are born with autism and other disabilities that prevent them from succeeding
TVs? Xbox’s? Gaming computers? VR? All affordable and have gone down in price the past few years. You’d be hard pressed to find someone here who DOESNT have a touchscreen phone or laptop. Yet, food prices skyrocketed since Covid. It’s gotten to the point where a $100 barely feeds a family of four for a week. And that’s buying the cheapest stuff you can. No name brands. Just generic low quality products that are NOT good for you. Doesn’t this way of life we live remind anyone else of the dysfunctional dystopia that is the Cyberpunk Universe? Especially the show Edgerunners? It feels more and more this way to me. Unfortunately, for those familiar with the game and show you’ll know that life fucking sucks in Night City. It’s cool to play, terrible to live. Yet we live this way now. I’m not sure how much longer until we can…
I’m 17f and I’m a dishwasher/closer making $10/hour, I don’t much care for the work but the people I work with are awesome. The other closers are super chill people and really kind and supportive and are my primary reason for staying. I have lung issues that make it near impossible to breathe at times and the doctors refuse to treat it. I’ve had to call off/leave early a few times recently due to this especially with the high AQI levels lately. I’ve worked there over a year and when I asked for a raise yesterday I was denied due to me missing work even though it doesn’t happen too often. I was also told that they were going to let me go if it continues and idk what to do. I can’t help that I have to miss work occasionally since I cant get treatment and I don’t want…
