I can’t work here anymore
I’ve been at this place for 4 months. It’s a family run law firm by a husband and wife, and I just can’t be here anymore. Their motto is that being hard on you is the only way for you to learn. They don’t speak to us with respect, and give us an occasional free meal to compensate for the verbal abuse. My first few weeks here, I was in constant fear of being verbally chewed out by the lawyer for little mistakes in my memos. He’s an old man who says one thing, and when you do it, he forgets he asked for it in the first place and makes you change it. It also doesn’t help that both him and his wife are horribly rude people. She is passive aggressive and makes you feel dumb for asking questions. I asked ONE clarifying question to the lawyers wife today…
I experienced the worst sexual harassment and treatment from my employer last year, I filed with the EEOC and the state agency June 2022, due to my company ignoring my multiple sexual harassment complaints to management, HR and corporate, which resulted in me being fired in retaliation for defending myself against my harasser. You wanna know what their reasoning was? I engaged in misconduct because I “verbally threatened” the person that had sexually harassed me for months, after they threatened to attack me with an object, making comments about my private parts, asking to see my ass in front of other people and other disgusting remarks, I informed management multiple times and they did absolutely nothing all the while keeping them in close proximity to me. Then came the sham investigation, HR says “you were wrong too” and “well we actually fired both of you so” I was able to…
We (the entire tech team) quit pt. 2
Hello again, So a follow-up to my old post about how I managed to leave my old job that was paying me half the competitive rate for something better. It's been a little over a year and the new job has been going well so far. Currently hybrid but the company is giving more leniency for remote work and even closing some offices to facilitate that. So updates about the previous job: I mentioned this in my original post but things got so bad I demanded a raise for double to meet market standards and they said they wouldn't be able to ever afford half of that but when I turned in my notice, immediately that day they posted my job listing for exactly that. They ended up hiring a replacement but he left within a year and no replacement posting has been made so I believe they've given up…
How do you even answer that?
My landlord did it on purpose didn’t he?
So I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I’m not sure where else to go here. So my partner and roommate moved into a new place 7 months ago in winter. (So this isn’t new, but it’s just been on my mind again). Before we moved in I had directly asked the landlord “how much are the utilities” to which he stuttered and was like “oh well you can’t really determine that because every place in different” Lo and behold our first month our utilities were $600 (this was in winter). It was consistent for the winter months but now it’s better to an extent. It’s still more pricey than other places. Not only that, but we also had 2 gas leaks he somehow didn’t notice although he was renovating the house before we moved in. I started to think about it, and I’m…
I was scheduled a second interview for today for a well known northern NY retail company. The first interview I had with them, no one even knew I was coming. There wasn't even a manager there to interview me. Now I just got done with a second interview (different store this time, same company) and there WASN'T A FUCKING MANAGER THERE TO INTERVIEW ME THIS TIME EITHER. No one even knew that I was coming. I followed the HR lady's directions, I went to the right store, asked for the right guy. Lo and behold, he wasn't there. “He left hours ago” they told me. Okay, well my interview was scheduled for 1pm so what are we going to do? Oh great, I get an impromptu interview with some jackass “team lead”. This dude has no interest in interviewing me, I can just tell by his demeanor and the way…
I’m not even supposed to be here today
This is my current work day
I say no all the time
Sorry if not the right place for this? Just delete. Ps. I hate my job.
