Has anyone noticed this? I had a great work life balance in my jobs prior to the pandemic, it was always an ebb and flow of workloads, some days it was heavy but there were some days where it was light. I always had time to socialize with co workers and not feel guilty. But now that the pandemic hit, we “have to use every minute of our work time with intention” and working overtime is the complete norm. Work Life Balance is a thing in the past. I’m completely burnt out and long for the times when I wasn’t expected to work 10 hour days on weekdays and on weekends to make sure I hit everything on my to do list. My current company got rid of our ERG groups because they want us to focus on producing business for the company, and it’s gotten to the point where…

At my wits’ end at this job
I just need a place to vent. I'm becoming so sick and tired of the place that I work at, and it's beginning to wreck havoc on my mental health. Despite being a decent software engineer at my company and producing quality work for many years, I've been getting treated like a straight up dumbass lately at this toxic dump. Management barely does anything but bark ridiculous orders, coworkers always talking shit about other's 'trash code' and throwing hissy fits on Slack, brown nosers at the place coddle managements nut-sack and it creates unrealistic expectations (thus ruining our WLB.) Nonetheless, whenever I bring up a concern to management, I might as well be talking to a god-damn wall. Seriously, it's like I'm speaking a foreign language to them whenever we talk. I'm currently looking for another job, and I'll be so glad when I find that next place. It will…
Forced PTO for COVID
I was diagnosed with COVID last week, and found out my employer took 3 days of PTO for my time off. I didn’t have any, now I’m negative hours. Is this legal? I am required to pay back any PTO time that is negative should I be terminated. Something about this feels very wrong. I’m still sick and feel really shitty about this whole thing. I should clarify I live in Florida

My boss doesn't breathe down my neck so I was able to “look busy” and stall at my work as long as possible. I managed to make 8 doodles on my paper before clocking out. I basically got paid to do nothing.

My husband works a commission based job, with a draw check the first of the month and his commission for the previous month on the 15th. This month there was apparently a pretty major fuck up somewhere high up and they paid draw check on the 15th instead of commission. This was fixed within a few days, but they shorted him 20 hours. He went and talked to them and apparently it'll be included on his next commission. I'm so mad. They fucked up twice and now we have to wait another month for what we should already have. That makes this month harder, especially with back to school shopping which we budgeted around what he should have made.

Fun at Work
My position is being eliminated due to restructuring. It ends in three weeks. Today my boss handed me the task of researching places for the company Christmas Party. Nice.
