As title says, I work in IT and have 3 years of experience and make decent money. Back in April I was brought into my boss' office suddenly where he eventually got to the point of saying that 'people are complaining about your pay' and that I need to tell him who've I've discussed my compensation with at the company. My initial thought was, 'its none of your business if I told anyone or not.' My second thought was 'why are you entertaining conversation with my coworkers (in a different department I'm assuming) about my compensation?' I've always believed a managers only legal response to someone asking about someone else's pay is, “its none of your business.” So recently, because I've put in my two weeks notice, I've gotten the full story when initially I wasn't told the real reason. Those of you with labor law experience, do I have…

I don't even know how to handle what I'm feeling right now. Me and my manager have been discussing for weeks about a promotion to a Sr position opening up, and he was helping me get qualified for it, so much as putting me on tasks alongside them to learn parts of their job. I applied for the position and 3 days later I received an automated apology email. No interview, nothing. I can't blame my manager because I think he truly did what he could to set me up for it, so far as to give me advice on what to focus on during the interview as far as my contributions to the team. Man I fucking hate this corporate bureaucracy bullshit. The person who rejected my application doesn't even work for the company, they're an outsourced contractor w/ another company. Anyway, I'm channeling my anger into applying for…

Who do these companies think they are?
So this company wants to hire someone to run an entire department. They must hold full CIPS qualification (3-4years) Have a degree (3 years) Have at least 5 years managerial experience. … They are offering 26k-30k Oh and btw it's a temporary contract so they will bin you off as soon as the other employee comes back from maternity. Are these companies insane or just taking the utter p*ss?

Both the manager and our regional lead know we're close. I reckon by tomorrow, one of them's gonna ask if I had a heads up about it. How do y'all think I should navigate that? They won't believe me if I say I didn't know a thing. What should I say if they ask me If I knew all along.
Cheated out of work authorization.
Non-immigrant worker here in USA on a full time role. Permit expires 2024. I'll try to keep this brief – My employer [HR specifically ] promised over messages that the HR will take care of my working status in the US and therefore file employer based sponsorship green card. They confirmed that if I have continued good performance evaluations, the process would start by Jan 2023. I decided to put in extra effort to do well since this is the line of work I enjoy thoroughly. Jan 2023, I got my performance evaluations and as expected I did well, got a better score than their requirement. Till date, they have been deliberately stalling, waiting for my permit to expire. They don't say they won't do it, they indicate filing it is their highest priority but at the same time they won't do anything about it either. The time by which…
My manager is hosting a little get together for the residents in our building and she looped me into it without even asking. It’s from 5-7 and I imagine I’ll have to stay after to clean up. This event does nothing for my career, it’s nothing more than a simple meet and greet for her since she’s not too familiar with the tenants that live in the building. It’s on a Friday night and after being on call for 4 days I really don’t want to spend my evening at an after hours event guzzling pizza…
