Was onboarding at a company that proudly stated they offered five days of paid leave when you have a child. That’s it. I would have been less offended if they just didn’t have any policy. But no. recently i was told how bad i was at every part of my job, that half a day of training for a different role had already shown how bad i would be at that job, and because i won't do the overnight shift (which is, of course, the most physically difficult role with no additional pay for that or the fact it's a graveyard shift) i would be losing hours. two weeks ago i had an almost perfect review where i was told i was the best person at my main task at work in the whole company. i just physically can't do that overnight shift, i was vocal from day one of training for it that i couldn't. it felt like they were trying to make me do it. i need to pay rent and i was moving soon anyway- my commute would've doubled, and i was willing to…

This company has installed driver-facing AI tracking cameras that record audio and visual 24/7. (They say they don’t record, unless there’s an incident but that’s not true, the camera is always on, and what they’re actually doing is marking an incident with a time stamp. Big Brother is watching you, always) The A.I. camera yells at you if it thinks you’re distracted. If you’re not looking directly forward for four seconds, it says “distracted driving,” and sends a report to corporate. The camera pointed inward into the cab and sleeping bunk feels intrusive and hostile. I feel like there are hostile eyes on me at all times and I can’t escape it. My coworker has been there 2 years more than me, but she’s been very nasty and catty and turned a lot of coworkers (newer people against me) and turned the office into a clique. I finally after 2 years reported the situation and I told them how mad I get or upset and they flat out asked me “did you do something to make her yell at you?” “So don’t get mad! Don’t get upset! Why are you taking it personally?” “We are all a family.” “I observed you doing ____ and that could possibly be why she got angry with you.” Honestly, fuck this job. I make about 35k a year at my job. It’s not my only income but still I work 40 hours a week and I’m exhausted by the time I get home. I’ve made my boss almost half a million dollar profit in 4-5 months. Recently to show how appreciative he is for me and my coworker he got us a Little Ceasers pizza. Just 1 large pizza.
