im forklift certified i apply for a position at a hot box warehouse. no problem there. they tell me its a forklift/warehouse position. which means i’ll handle forklift duties as well as warehouse duties. 17/hr during training bs work just filling time till better opportunities. two months after interview i was signing the hiring paperwork and noticed no raise amount mentioned. i asked management about this their response “youll have to wait a year thats how we give raises” walked straight out. pissed me off completely i only took the job because they said during training i aced every task they gave me and apparently was good enough to move from temp to perm but not fit for a raise. they have high turnover for drivers and i really need to start listening when im told that.

Rule #235 Always dress a little gay. Not too gay. So if by some miracle that girl in accounting gives you an opening she's not shocked when you shoot your shot. But just gay enough where people kinda assume it. This gives you a leg up in the diversity hire game. Gotta play to win. Rule #765 Always shit at work.. Always. I mean you could do it at home. But you aren't getting paid to shit at home. Plus reduces the amount of times you have to clean your toilet. In my case that's never but for you germaphobes.. that's a major win. Though I guess the shitting in public can be daunting… Just bring your own toilet bib and disinfectant. Or you know get your psychologist to give you some kind of special treatment exception and have a dedicated stall to yourself. They are giving all kinds of…
The Classes
Jeff Bezos bought a $500 million yacht and is worth billions. Elon Musk spent $44 billion on Twitter. Can we even understand what these numbers mean? Can we begin to fathom the wealth? Can you begin to imagine? You could make $10000 per day for many thousands of years and not be close to the worth of someone like Musk. Yet, school lunch for free is up for debate. Housing is considered a luxury. Food is at a premium. Cars are sold at double to triple price due to “market adjustment”. When the fuck does this stop? Think about this for one minute. Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion. Think of this injected into programs to house, feed, and secure help for the nation. California camp-scapes. School lunches being paid for by children working lemonade stands for their peers. This country is Capitalism in the last stages of extreme…
What happened in this interview?
I sat through four interviews recently for an upper management position at a company — each interviewer seemed extremely stressed and talked about the difficulties of the current situation at the company. I can’t understand why they would do that? Do they prefer I not take the job? Maybe the person that recommended me isn’t cooperative with them? Maybe they are interviewing a person they think might challenge them or their ideas about the situation after being hired? If I do get an offer, no doubt I counteroffer for more pay and a higher title. Any thoughts?
Was I right to quit?
I had been working for a company for a while(7yr) and was doing relatively good. I used to get annual hike and equity and promotion twice which according to my manager was way higher then most of the people in the team or company wide. My boss and his boss was always happy with my work, as I would jump on any customer escalation or demo or new development or testing. However, my team members(who are more experienced than me)were not happy with me. Due to some misunderstanding which I have no idea about they started to treat me very hostile. I tried taking to them about it but they were not responding. I talked to my manager about it ,who I guess spoke to hr and his boss. But they didn’t do much. Finally I got frustrated and quit. It was a year ago, and I still miss that…
The past has been an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least, and I don't know if I should stick it out and give it more time or quit ASAP. So, a little backstory: I got a job offer at this place but there was some sort of mix up where they didn't mean to offer the job to me, and instead to someone else with the same first name. When I decided to talk to them about it because I didn't feel comfortable in the job, they said they still wanted me, and the other person would get the too (I didn't want to take anyone's position), so I said I'd stay. But. I have been miserable since then. And part of me wonders how miserable I'd be if it wasn't for their fuck up. I like to think I wouldn't, but maybe I just wouldn't be happy either way.…
Felt the stress just fly off of me. Im still going to have to do the 2 weeks which im dreading but I regret not leaving sooner. Im so exicted to start my new life now. Taking some time to rest. Employer lied from the start about basically everything and doing job of 3 people with no support or training.
Hi all. Throwaway account. A little bit of background: I am a certified dog trainer and have been working in the industry for the past 4+ years. I love what I do and wouldn't change it for the world. A little over a year ago I accepted a job at a dog daycare. I ran the training program on my own and essentially built it from the ground up. It was a lot of work but it was fulfilling. The pay, not so great, but you can't have it all, right? Anyways. About a month ago an incident occurred where a dog unfortunately died whilst boarding with the daycare (possibly health related). I only had initial contact with the dog when accepting him from the owners and guiding him into his containment- after that I continued with my training tasks for the rest of the day. Ended the workday early…
