Frustrating Situation

I asked a question of the director last week. She gave me an off the cuff answer that allowed her to just get rid of me without answering the question. Basically here is where the information is. Find it yourself. I researched it and found no more information than I already had. So still needing the information I ask my supervisor this week. As we are working to find the answer my director walks in. So I turned to her and pointed out I was unable to get the information I needed. She gives me the same answer. I further explained where I went in the system and what information that got me and what information I needed. She then begrudgingly provided me the answer I needed. My handover note is forced to basically be an entire orientation for the next person

I was asked to create a handover note 3 days before my last day at this company. I included 4 pages of every single thing I do and step by step for the next person. My manager goes “you need to include every single vendor, venue, speaker, guest, every person that attended our events with contacts and descriptions, explanation of every project, explanation of every approval process even ones that don't include you They also want me to include descriptions and contacts for every single person who works in our clients offices and our office. like are you fucking joking youknow what I got when I started? a table. with people and contacts. Thats it. Not what to do, not anything. Theyre too lazy to have an orientation so they're making me do it and print every fucking thing DONT WORK ANYWHERE THAT DOESN'T HAVE AN HR

Gave two week notice in July and did not receive final paycheck worked at a clinic where partners are doctors, therapist and dietitian

It’s Friday the 18th and I have not been paid- this is 1 week late and unacceptable. This is my third and final request. If I don’t have a paycheck by Monday the 21st at 12pm these are the steps I will take. 1. File a wage claim with TW 2. File grievance with all four respective boards to all professional associates at (company). 3. Write a review on Glassdoor.

New in-office requirement

My company moved to total remote during the pandemic. They had record profits for the past two years. I was hired as a remote employee, on a team that had always been a remote. (There is no office near me.) Our CEO just announced our 'hybrid' workers will have a requirement to be in the office a few days a week. (There was no requirement before.) This isn't going to affect me, since I'm not a 'hybrid' employee, but I do worry if this is a trend and will change remote employees status on the future. He even said: “If you want to work for a completely remote company, maybe this company isn't for you.” at an all hands company. Rather making it obvious the reason for doing this is they want to downsize, but don't want to lay anyone off. Needless to say I'm disappointed.

Week 1 of doing nothing on a Friday and getting away with it

So, for context, the last 2 fridays i’ve done nothing at work, i work from home near enough full time in a pretty trusted position (no one REALLY monitors my work although there could be a chance of it) The last 2 weeks (thursdays) for unforseen circumstances, i’ve been out on the drink with friends/family, and done nothing at work the next day and gotten away with it. Usually, at the end of each working day, we will upload our work for the day to a system, the past 2 weeks, i’ve been too hungover to even bother uploading anything and gotten away with it This week, i have had a sober thursday and today deciding to give the ‘no work’ a try. If anyone asks on monday, i can just say i forgot. But for now this is day one of doing absolutely fuckall on a friday.

Asked 5 times to come back for OT

After saying no once, these lovely life forms kept trying to butter me up for another five minutes with torturous pleeeeeeeases and “it’s overtime!” and “just for an hour or two” AFTER I ALREADY SAID NO AND THE FIRST TIME WAS AFTER I CLOCKED OUT. This is after another thrilling day of being treated as less than human. This shit is getting stupid. After they finally put two brain cells together as I start chuckling at them when I say no (for the nth time), which is basically the real me coming out, one of the toxic assholes says OK bluntly and the act finally stops. Kissing ass is their only skill and it doesn’t work on me. I’ve done OT before but that was when I respected the management team and corporate actually gave decent hours for help and appreciated us.

Working as a Special Education Paraprofessional/Paraeducator… Just need to VENT

I haven’t even started working yet and I’m so close to quitting. I am “fortunate” to have snagged a job as a special education paraprofessional with a focus on behavioral/social emotional learner students in a well regarded and “well paying” district in a fancy part of the north east in Connecticut. I know there are paraprofessionals that hardly make $17-18 starting, so making $24.80/hr sounds, on paper, good. BUT IT IS NOT. Doing the math, at 6.5 paid hours a day (30 minute unpaid lunch where you at required to clock out even though 30 minutes is barely enough time to catch your breath let alone leave the building or something for lunch) times 180 days a year (but really almost a full 10 months of your life employment wise from late august to early June) is $29,016 BEFORE TAXES. Part time people treated poorly

I signed a position as a part time employee, with the set hours of 25-30hrs. I told the manager at the interview that I may need to drop that if my next semester at school is hard. The shifts were suddenly 11 hrs long and we were to get a 30 minute break. I never received a break. I worked alone as a lifeguard. I had to radio someone to use the bathroom. The other managers didn't like me because I put them in trouble the first week (angered by my ADA accommodation, where they emailed the GM that “if I cannot work my entire shift without a break, I should be fired”. That's against state and federal laws, so it wasn't bad. My medicine makes me thirsty. I wanted a bathroom break every 2 hrs.) I'm back with another rant, and I apologize in advance for being annoying. In my previous posts, I mentioned that I hate my job and suspect it to be a toxic environment. I most likely have ADHD (I'm in the process of diagnosing it), and I'm just learning so many things about it that now it all makes sense for me. I just came back in the office after a week sick for COVID, where my boss was insisting for me to come back to work, although I was positive (and feeling guilty about it).
