Hi, I was wondering if anyone can be a reference for me. I worked at a veterinary emergency hospital and currently a veterinary clinic. Happy to provide more details

I'm a childcare teacher and I love, love, love my kids. But I hate my job. We are so understaffed, underpaid, and underappreciated for the work we do. I've been at my job at Childcare Network for two years and I've seen at least 45-50 people/staff come and go. Ninety percent from quitting. Of course that leaves a burden on those who stay to cover and take care of the children and see to the needs of the school. I've been bitten, pooped on, puked on, yelled at, hit, bruised, head-butted, disrespected, and the list goes on. I've had breakdowns and called my mom crying to come and pick me up. I've consoled coworkers during their breakdowns and tears. I've seen coworkers leave children mid shift because they couldn't take it anymore. The company doesn't care about its employees at all and it's disappointing to say the least. Childcare Network…
Perfect example of how Americans think
Got into an argument with a person who’s under the impression that every single employer in the US follows every law and regulation. Specifically, follows the law according to “required time off to vote”. He says that employers don’t deny that time off, and if they do, it’s just as easy as filing a report and you win your case. I explained that not every case is like that, and many employees have no resources to actually win a case like that. Additionally, this person is under the impression that if you’re unemployed, you should take any job that you can find because there are thousands. Specifically for my situation when I explained that I’d applied to 500+ jobs with a handful of of phone interviews that haven’t panned out, he said he says I should go work fast food, retail, or Amazon/QuikTrip for a guaranteed $35k/year. He thinks I…
So I started a job two years ago. I filled out paper work for health insurance and 401 k all that good stuff you do when starting a job. Well turns out when I looked into everything they didn’t set up my insurance and they haven’t been putting in money for my 401k which every full time employee has. What should I do about this. I tried following up with the uppers and they said that I have yo wait until open enrollment starting the beginning of next year. We had an email a year ago stating every full time employee would have mandatory 401k. I have nothing. Is this something I should be reporting to someone and what do I do? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Would you risk it? Company A produces X software, company B uses X software occasionally (not necessarily focal to business function) but is nonetheless a paying client. Risk > Reward? Or vice versa?
I was told by the AGM today that we dont have an end time, and we can leave when the manager says we can leave. Which in my state the work laws consider this kidnapping and highly illegal to force an employee to stay past their schedualed time. They have zero care for the fact that I have a life outside of work, and that im PART TIME. They expect me to do anything and everything they say and stay for however long they say they want me too. Ive also gotten yelled at multiple times bc the system they use for orders is shitty and fucks up constantly, but yet they blame me, the person not even touching anything. I have 5 years of kitchen experince from head chef to dishwasher and everything in between. I like the work but I dont know if I can continue to work…
Headed towards a nervous breakdown
I have multiple health issues and have to force myself to go into work. The job pays slave wages and us back breaking. My medical bills end up costing me more than what I make. I work overnight which isn't good either. I'm only there because I couldn't get disability. I work retail which is tedious and boring. I have other things in my life that are a total mess too. But the job adds to the torture. If i was healthyi definitely wouldn't be at that job. I just don't what to do. I'm too sick to get hired anywhere else. But at the same time disability is extremely hard to get.
Can this myth just die a fiery fuckin death already?!! I'm in my late twenties. I can't recall a single time in living memory I've walked into a fast food joint or cafe and seen the place completely staffed by teens working their “starter jobs”, barring the times “completely staffed” meant frazzled skeleton crew of 1. Leaving aside the fact that's it's a terrible justification for bullshit wages anyway, it's also a complete fucking lie. How many more decades do we have to spend fighting over an ever shrinking pool of shit jobs with shit pay until people get it through their heads that this hasn't been true for years? I'm gonna walk into the A&W near my place and congratulate the miserable 57 year old manning the till on his amazing starter job. Yeah he's on fucking food stamps despite working in an establishment that literally sells food, but…
Follow up two week notice
Hello all, looking for advice because I never heard of such a thing. One can look at my previous post over the issue of my two weeks notice but long story short my new jobs timeframe doesn’t allow me to stop at my old job for my last paycheck. Due to this my wife went to pick it up but she was told I had to fill out paperwork before they can release it to me. I’m unsure but I feel that this is retaliation from me leaving because again I’ve never had to fill out final paperwork. Anyone have any advice on how to proceed?
Advice for a guy?
First off, hello and thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this and constructively respond. A little bit of backstory first, I was homeschooled, and then spent about 10 years out in the sticks taking care of my elderly / disabled grandmother and mother and helping take care of the family business that my grandmother couldn't maintain by herself anymore. My immune system never really had much of a chance to get a workout in my younger years and I'm now dating a school teacher for going on 4 years. When we first started dating I was sick almost after every time that we visited but it was worth it. Now I just recently started working at an assisted living facility and I'm getting bombarded by germs from both sides. School teacher germs at home and old people germs at work. I wear masks and sanitize my…
