90 day review- Put on a PIP after 1 day of training

Started a new job and unexpectedly found out that I was pregnant. I've been at the job for 12 weeks and I am 14 weeks. I waited til I was passed my 60 days and told them. You should never tell companies about pregnancy. I was given about 15 mins of training on a new project. I was the sole manager of it, and it was apparent to me that the training was half ass and I was struggling. Asking multiple questions, and per my lead, “Honestly, are you reading what you are sending me.” Of course, when I made a mistake and I tried to correct it, everyone could only point out that I made a mistake, not how many times I asked for help or how to fix it. Cue today, I am put on a PIP and even though I pointed out if it was my first…

Salary work turned into hourly work

So I don’t really like my job. I have been salaried for about a year, but now my position is being turned into a hourly position. I have to now clock in on a time clock app. I’m a little annoyed because my position is not really supervised since my last supervisor left and someone else has to juggle everything at our other location. So I don’t have many projects to do. I would usually just do all my duties then leave an hour early. But now, I have to work my 40 hours. Don’t know if the time clock is geographically located or if there is a geofence. I’m always about 15 min late to work, because there’s literally no rush to get there since there’s nothing to do. Being hourly would’ve been nice when my last supervisor was here. She would make me work almost 12 hours a…

This is where I let go

So I worked for this company for 8 years. The final 2 years had me over worked, under paid and emotionally drained as in my family only got my angry side. When hired I was given the wrong position than promised by HR. My first 3 days in the job my supervisor repeated to me “This job is like eating a shit sandwich everyday you better eat each piece.” By my 3rd week the same supervisor and Manager told me, “You don't deserve your 2nd 15min break.” After 3 months I fixed my position. Once the over worked hours weren't getting paid, the grivences started. My first injury, I went to my supervisors one laughed at my Leg and the other told me I will be working the following day, injury went unreported. Was promised meetings that never happened. Followed up on upaid OT was told we'll talk next session…

Salary rate vs Burdened (Contract rate)

Hi everyone, I have always felt that I was being underpaid and unfortunately have not had the comparable salaries to back it. I recently stumbled upon a breakdown of burdened cost rates, or contract rates, for the members of my team. I work for a private company as a consultant where we bill our work to our clients. From what I can understand, burdened rates, include salary rates along with the sum of all other costs associated with the project, such as overhead time, materials, equipment, etc. My team and I work remote and all have very similar situation since we are in the same level and position. That being said, I noticed my burdened rate is significantly less than my coworkers. Is there any explanation for why I would have a lower burdened rate than my coworkers (same position and level as me)? And, how likely is it that…

My boss searched my car

Buckle up and get your popcorn I started a job June 13 as an assistant manager at a dispensary (Ontario) I’ve worked in the industry roughly past 3 years so I know a thing, or 2. My boss/owner (no store manager) on the other hand doesn’t know basic answers to consumer questions, does he even really smoke, talked to him about terpenes/cannabinoids and he told me no one cared about those things and “your here to sell them what they want, quick” Context when I got hired, I quit a fulltime job doing the exact same thing for a different dispensary, worked there for over 2 years and was quite miserable due to workload the last few months working at that company. Now couple weeks in I already didn’t like it but I kept telling myself it was the change I didn’t like as I’m not very adaptable person. Now I…

Got a job at a store that almost only sells tank tops, hoodies, skirts, etc. and you’re not allowed to wear any of it

I really don’t get rules like this, I’m starting my first training shift today but I’m already mad just knowing this rule? How does a spaghetti strap prevent me from working? How is it not brand-safe, if this is what the store is selling. The store is Ardene for reference. You don’t have to wear a uniform, but I would almost prefer a uniform over all of these limitations. They suggest you wear something like a kimono over tank tops… I’m not even sure if I’m allowed to dye my hair. Hate this world sometimes.

I need help caring less.

I'm 25 years old, working part-time at a coffee kiosk, inside of grocery store. I only work twice a week so I can care for my father (81) & split that responsibility w my mother (58). Recently, my workplace requested I pick up shifts during the week. I agreed, thinking I could follow through, but circumstances required me to call off. I feel guilty because this affects my coworkers who need to pick up that slack. I'm calling off today since my dad had an appointment I didn't know about, and my mother is sick atm and could never take him anyways since he needs a lot of physical help w those. I just want help not giving a f-ck. Obviously, I'm going to call out and help my parents, but I just don't want to feel guilty about it. I mean it's such a mediocre job and I don't…

Repercussions for quitting my job instantly

I plan to quit my job next week with no 2 weeks notice. I live in an at will state, although my employee workbook stated to give 2 weeks notice but that they can let go of me at any time without notice (lol, so I don’t care to give them any notice). Not sure if this is the right sub to post this. But my question is, once I send my quitting email to my manager, I don’t want to hear back or discuss or anything. The moment I hit send, I want to log out of their system and that’s it. Are there any repercussions for this? Any thing I have to do before quitting? Like talking to HR or something? First time I’m quitting, so I’m not sure what the rules are. I have insurance that I pay for through my paychecks, will this automatically cancel or…

The only thing i am “sick” of is this shitty job

I work as a callcenter agent in a kinda chilled and laid back company. The first few weeks, maybe even months everything was smooth, everyone was nice, the office looks pretty, my workspace was inviting and open and about 90% of the colleagues are pretty cool and decent people. Today, I called in sick. I am currently writing up my resignation and I will quit this job. I am not actually sick, I admit it, I told my doc, and doc fucking knew that I wasn't sick. He always knows. I am tired of the software, I am tired of this odd sense of group… but the worst part is, I am tired of the fact that all the people above me, all the people that have been working there for over a year longer than me are getting paid the same as me and keep getting denied raises while…
