I have a printed copy with the date omited that I take to work 'just in case'.
Month: August 2023
The proposed rules — which will now be subjected to a public comment period — could mandate increased staffing, would set a maximum time (72 hours) to fill prescriptions, and give pharmacists greater authority to suspend non-core services if they believe they’re getting in the way of prompt, safe delivery of medications. Importantly, the rules would expressly prohibit retaliation against workers who follow the new guidelines. A whopping 89% of large-chain pharmacies said staffing in their workplaces wasn’t adequate to protect patient safety. The board estimates that among large pharmacy chains the requirement would cost CVS $25 million a year; Walgreens, $17 million; Kroger, $14 million, and Walmart: $10 million. Those amounts would equal 0.4% to 0.6% of the companies’ annual profit from pharmacy, the estimate said.Article Link
I will delete if not allowed, or tell me where to cross-post, im new to this. Sorry for the post being long. Ive worked for this USA vitamin supplement corporation for several years now. Since prior to covid outbreak… Let me tell you, things have gotten worse and worse in store operations. The company keeps deleting entire job positions and laying off those workers and therefore causing the workload of those titles onto other job positions. Seems as of the last year, this company is continually implementing budget cuts that not only effect having the proper fuctioning equipment needed to do the job, but effects store workers hours and pay being cut while also adding more tasks and mandatory micro managing procedures.. ie; daily conf calls during operation times, sales pitching role play, paper work to match the electronic work, ect. Its also a retail “nutrition sales” job with constant…
As the title states, I have been working in the same company as an IT Helpdesk analyst over four years and denied promotions repeatedly. The job title makes no sense as I am responsible for IT management and support for 3 countries. What pisses me off is even though I have the relevant experience and certifications, I keep on getting denied or given a bullshit reason. I have good relations with all the employees in the company – from senior management, country directors down to junior roles. You can skip the below paragraph as it list the timeline of when I asked promotions. In Jan 2021 I almost had a promotion to an IT security role . Everything was set , contracts in place , approval from HR but in the fucking last minute the position was put on due to firing the CIO. New CIO joined in Feb 2021…
Like the title says. It is incredible how we are pushed to work for our lives and yet, the best times I have had since 2020 which was a traumatic year for my entire life was after me getting laid off. I understand that I was definitely privileged which sounds weird as I grew up VERY poor in Mexico. Now I am a software engineer in Canada which means that my job is “better” than a lot of people but earning this supposedly “great amount of money” just teach me that the system is just dumb. For context, I grew up poor in Mexico like I said. I started working when I was 8 years old at a super market. My dad was (Saying was even though he is still alive fortunately, but he graduated from University at 58! Super proud of that) a mechanic, so I spent countless hours…
I finally quit my work of 4!!
4 years*!! (Couldn’t edit the title) Leaving without another job lined up was not an option for me. After a long search of a year and a half I finally made it and got my dream job offer 🥹. I quit yesterday, will not be working for them after end of august!!
My girlfriend is a 17 year old Tutor in the uk. She has a “0 hour” contract which I believe means the company she works for asks her to come in whenever there is work for her. A few days ago she was asked to come in for the day and one of the hours she was there, none of her scheduled students turned up meaning she had no one to tutor. She has been told they aren't going to pay her for that hour. Is there a rule that says she should have been considering that they asked her to come into work for that hour and she did?
Can’t understand america
I know there is not a clear answer but I really need some theories about it (Tinfoils allowed). Since 40 years ago one man was able to afford a decent living with a nice house, a wife taking care of at least two kids and two cars … Now that both, men and women work wouldn't it be logic that they could afford twice the welfare and good life of those times ??? What the hell happened?? why quality of life deteriorated so much with twice the labor force ???
I just really need to vent because I'm actually really hurt and angry. So I started a WFH job that is at a doctor's office in my city. I had no complaints up to this point. Sure the patients suck because I live in a VERY retired entitled city, but I could handle it because I work from home so I just make faces at them but smile sweetly when I answer. Easy to fake, whatever. Well I got a phone call from my manager AND the doctor who both cornered me about why a patient no showed on them. Uhm, I have no idea, I said. She's already a difficult patient as is (she lives in a nursing facility) so she probably just didn't want to show up? Apparently that wasn't good enough. “Well WHY did she no show?” “Doctor I don't know-” “Well WHY did you confirm her…
