So I'll preface this by saying I fully understand that 12 hour days for 14 days straight isn't the best option for everyone but for the last two years I've been on shiftwork my mental health has skyrocketed. Getting two weeks off a month feels absolutely incredible. It gives you time to actually focus on hobbies and enjoy time outside of work. Especially here in the UK where you get entitled holiday days on top of this. I'm not saying it should be the norm but far more industries should have the option of this rather than it just being a strange outlier job.

This happen to me today and my first instinct was to delete all my work and leave to never return… But what's the civilized way to handle this situation? It's a job that doesn't pay minimum wage, or extra hours. They offer WFH as a 'bonus' perk but only for a month if you're a 'good dog'. Then you're back at the office until you prove again that you're a 'good dog' once again. The job it's dumb and doesn't offer experience in any useful skillset except that the position name sounds as something fancy that can be twisted later on to get a better job, or that's at least what everyone that decides to stay hopes (cuz yes, you see three people leave each week but next week they have new people on board) With that said, what would you do? Like a lot of people raised in the midwest, I started working when I was 14. People couldn’t wait to praise me for working at 14, swearing this made me some kind of go-getter destined to enter the workforce as an adult with the sort of delusion required to cosign the existence of the American dream. I honestly didn’t mind, since i figured work was something you did for about 40 years, and if you lived that long your later years were spent tooling around the country in an RV, taking photos in front of national monuments. No, this isn't a suicide post it's a liberation one. I am not going to play a game where winning ends up with you having a pile of cash while the world literally burns away. There literally is no point of supporting the system when it's going to destroy everyone. I thankfully have a bunch of good credit so I have the ability to take out a bunch of different credit cards. My gf works for massage envy as an esthetician. The current one she works at is ran very stupid and she is not treated very well. She applied at a different location closer to our house, interviewed, and said they were going to hire her. My gf is waiting for the formal job offer. Suddenly her current location suspends her for “not reaching her product sales goal” (keep in mind out of the 5 estheticians that work at her location, only 1 of them have hit their sales goals, but none of the others were suspended). Then they said they are reevaluating her employment with the company. And now she just got an email from the new location saying she is no longer being considered for the job and they went with someone else. Seems like retaliation and some other bs going on. Hello everyone, I(20F) am Currently I'm doing 3 months internship in X company. About this company: it's racist(they never accept ppl from Africa) , does shady stuff, treats employees badly and constantly fires them, ceo is severely autistic. ( no hate here, it's just he's a bit difficult person). About this internship: it's erasmus internship which accepts students to train them and receives good money from EU erasmus fund for it. This company does not train anyone whatsoever and nobody learns anything here. We are in office for 9 hours, can't go home early even though we finished our task ( or when we dont have task at all). I can't believe I am posting again so (relatively) soon after my other experience as a freelancer. So, after being screwed from a major payment, and held literal hostage from complaining for another, I thought I'd add some salaried work to my income. You know, fixed income is best income, right? So I went back to teaching. They hired me unusually fast, which I thought unsual, but ok. And they gave me a lot of classes, so I was over the moon. Decent fixed income! I'm genuinely tired of being forced to work shitty jobs i hate, being forced to be grateful for nothing, being forced to kiss the asses of the rich all because they have money. currently trying to unionize my org. We have a list of employees names and company emails but no other way of contacting them all at once. We want to take a survey to gauge specific complaints. Is there anyway to send this email from a throwaway gmail account that it won’t get smacked down by the spam filter/firewall?
