What do you mean anti-work? Like long work hours/difficult jobs (i.e construction), cleaning, ect. Or nothing like this at all? Please help. Thanks in advance.

All because I told them I didn’t want to do anymore tasks than I was hired for without revising my compensation. Unfortunately I’m in an at-will employment southern state with very low protection for workers and it’s a small business so the new pregnancy laws don’t apply. I just can’t believe someone can be this cold hearted. Wanted to immediately quit but the only thing that stopped me was the unemployment benefits that I don’t even know if I’m able to get or not because I’ve been only working there since April, and I was 1099 first and moved to w2 at the end of June.

So i am a serbian by nationality, with a fully serbian family and the language being my first. I was lucky enough to be born after the worst of my country's bombing, and was shortly thereafter brought to Central London By my mother. After my parents divorce and due to the little money we had,i never went other than summers, where id find small jobs to support affording a plane ticket back home. Since i was a minor and it was post wartime, i was paid extrememly poorly, maybe 220 serbian dinars an hour (equated to two euros). This was normal to me and i saw no problems cause i was a dumb kid. I heard of famine and pain but my baba's cooking kept me satiated and warm enough to not get affected. Coming back to the motherland in 2023, its shocking to see the same problems plagueing the…

I have to share this because I was almost roped into this. I'm 14, have never had a job before and many of the other applicants for this are around my age or younger. I think the oldest I saw was 15. When I auditioned so that I could take the acting classes I was horrifyingly nervous- Acting has been my biggest dream my whole life and I wholeheartedly believed that not only was this probably the best chance I'd ever get, but the only one. They admit to wanting to “take advantage” of the amount of non-unionized work in the industry since a lot of actors and writers are currently on strike. But… they wouldn't desperately need talent if they actually treated their employees and talent well and with decency. I'm really only seeing this so anyone who was thinking of signing up for this company might see it…

Hi. Brief summary of my situation. I can't do any more auditioning. I can't do any more competition just to get a job. I scream at the idea of going throught that. I want to be a teacher and have a simple, tranquil life. A life where I don't have to compete with anyone ever again. But it's not gonna be profitable where I live. I want to die. Yes I would rather do a simple office job. I don't know how to adapt. My brain refuses to. My body screams No. I hate this. There is no other choice for me.

As the title states above, a company tried to silence me with severance once I raised my concerns with HR on the way out of being (wrongfully) terminated. My email stated the discrimination I faced in a hostile environment. They only brought up the severance offer after I sent my concerns to HR in an email, not at the time of termination. They sent it a month later, at that. Regardless, I filed a case with the EEOC. They got a lawyer and submitted a statement, obviously filled with lies, and I had proof to back it up. I submitted my detailed rebuttal back with documentation & audio. Unfortunately, the laws protected their ass, but I do believe everything I detailed and provided will influence how this company navigates things with their dirty work, and also may affect one of the mentioned individuals going forward (as far as promotions go…

I’m currently employed, but open to switching jobs if it means more money . I found a job opening for a company I know by reputation . I apply, we speak once. It’s exactly the type of job I do now. I even knew the software they use even though I don’t currently use it myself. After we speak, she tells me she needs to send me a quiz to complete and if all is well they’ll bring me in for an interview . I just heard back that I didn’t get the job, I emailed to ask why- to see if I can prepare myself better for next time. And it’s because I tested too low on their PERSONALITY QUIZ. ITS NOT EVEN A REAL TEST FOR THE JOB AT HAND. Maaaan how is someone ever suppose to move up, if this is how it’s done ?
