I (17M) recently got a job at Dunkin Donuts as an afternoon baker. My hours tend to be 14:00 – 20:00 (closing), 15:00 – 20:00, or 16:00 – 20:00 I earn $11/hr, and we get free coffee and donuts, aswell as a free lunch up to $6 (for food only, coffee is always free) , then 50% off after Off the clock we get 20% off. We are a bit short staffed for afternoons. Most of the afternoon there's 3 of us. My coworker tried to get my position now she is lying continuously, pretending to do things to “help” me, but she is lying because when I check with others they say they never got the email or the person said they never spoke with her. Last year when I was trying to get the job she wrote how I was too nice for the job, and that the only reason why my last department head would want me to be department head is to help me financially. I mean I am nice , and I’m not poor. I'm currently unemployed and looking for jobs, and a job I applied for sent me a link to record myself interviewing myself for them to watch. I've never heard of anything like this before, and I don't like jobs that expect me to do their work for them before I'm even hired, so I haven't done it yet. Has anyone else experienced something like this before? I'm pretty camera shy, especially when I'm meant to talk out loud to no one.

I've heard this from multiple jobs thus far, after doing the final interview: “We'll let you know our hiring decision within the next week” – and 5 to 7 weeks later, there's no hiring decision, even when I send follow-up emails or phone calls to ask. Am I just naive?

I can't afford a house or apartment, going paycheck to paycheck, and still live with my parents. Hello I'm a 27 year old living in America. Lmao. Already had given a courtesy heads up next year I wanted take leave. They keep saying they will discuss. Now they keep trying to say it's not good to take so many days off when people have just started the job. But it is going to be a year that I will have worked there. And this is a big, one of those famous names, typical run of the mill mnc company. It baffles me they say hiring period is over and they can't look into hiring more people. Thankfully my contract runs out before my planned days off…so I will probably just be agreeable if they say no and just not renew my job contract next year anyway. This job had so many red flags and HR is messy anyway. Yolo.

How can a multii billion dollar company (who just bought a private jet btw) not afford to buy 10 gallons of gas for my generator? It's ridiculous. I can't do my job without gas and the quality of our product suffers if I can't do the necessary repairs. Wich will likely lead to another incident.
