I Accidentally Gave 2 Months Notice, I’m Disappointed…

Throwing this out there for those that might be in the same boat as many others. Obviously times are tough and money is tight, so every little thing you can do to make your day better and get back at a poor employer or management team, can sometimes help just that little bit more to make your days in the future better. Things like leaving without notice and so on are among those little things. I'll be forced out of my living location soon to move across the country and while it's going to be way earlier than I wanted, it was planned to happen within the year. All things considered my manager's bosses are garbage and tend to be the prime examples of lacking in everything, the pay is bogus, and I as well as others with me, are treated as if we can do 2 or 3 people's…

Boss gets massages from employees on company-time

My friend works for a gym and mentioned to me that the head of his department, during her working hours, takes guided workout sessions led by the gym trainers and gets massages from the gym masseuse, all of whom are her employees. Am I insane for thinking this is inappropriate?

Coworker told me to clock out while I waited for them to give me my tips.

I work in a kitchen. Everyone gets tipped out at the end of the night. It's common for the kitchen staff to finish thier closing work before the front of house is finished calculating everyone's tip out. We have the option to pick it up at a later date but we're garunteed tips every night. I finished my closing duties early and sat down while I waited and my coworker told me I shouldn't still be clocked in and he thought it was unfair that I was still clocked in when I wasn't doing anything. My argument is that I'm waiting on the company to performe a task, so I feel getting paid for 10 minutes it takes is fair. Mind you this dude is not in anyway close to being my boss, hes new infact, as am i. So why is he concerned with my hours or anyone else's?…

Project manager tried to threaten me with instant termination. I UNO-reversed him instead.

For context, I've been working (under contract) in a Korean JV in construction. Project was delayed due to covid, and we are currently dealing with the last spurt before the handover stage for the project. The whole organization chart was revamped last November, and the new management that came in hasn't been employee-centric. A few months back, I have arranged for the delivery of some materials with a subcontractor, and the subcontractor sourced the materials from China. Due to the delayed departure of the shipment, we do not have the ETA of said materials up until now. Between the arrangement and this incident, I have personally followed up with the subcontractor, as well as alerted my superior that the shipment was late, so he personally followed up with the subcontractor as well. And this was on a multitude of occasions prior to the incident. Fast forward to last month, I…

It’s important work and the pay is good, but god it’s frustrating.

I recently started work canvassing for voter registration. Group I am with is out there just trying to get people in my state registered to vote, because the only way we can even pretend to be a democracy is if the people have a voice. (yes, I am aware that America is not actually a democracy.) It's full time work, and pays a livable wage hourly. I'm on my feet out in the Arizona heat all day, but I don't mind that. I don't even mind dealing with the people who want to rant at me or the people who won't even acknowledge my existence (former retail, I'm used to that). The part that is fucking frustrating is that I'm struggling with it. I was sent out 2 days with a trainer who isn't worth shit, he's really good at what he does but doesn't acknowledge that his natural charisma…

Boss problems

Soooo. I got my boss pregnant. I have been working here for about 32 years. I am a 55 year old male married for 35 years. My boss is 27 years old and married as well to a marine. We began sleeping together one night while I was working late and she asked me to come explain the project and the process I had made. We had some wine and ended up fucking on her desk. Well last week she called me to her office and I found out she’s pregnant. It’s definitely mine as her husband is deployed overseas. I think I’m going to just block her number and quit my job. What do you guys think?

Got injured and worried about work

My dumbass nearly severed the tip of my thumb while cutting an onion. I had to go to hospital and before I went I cried because I'm not allowed anymore time off work. Edit: I work in a kitchen so handwashing is essential.

Department Hopping

Throw away account. Lengthy read. Some context for my situation: I applied for a position in the enforcement department for the state back in May. It is a ~6 month vetting process for this position. I had no prior enforcement/law experience , so I knew it would be a longshot if I actually got the position. Time went on and I waited. I took the entrance exam for the enforcement department, sent them my resume and cover letter, and went through the motions. As I was awaiting to be approved for the next step (the physical test), I decided to apply to another state department at the end of June. This was the state's agriculture department. This was done to, more or less, hedge my bets. Looking back on it, this might have been a mistake, because this is where things get complicated. The enforcement department invited me to the…

Claims Representatives

My job has created this “universal call center” where we do extra work and do they the title or paid more. I was hired to be a customer service representative and now they have me doing claims work too. I don’t like claims. This company is shady in other ways. Can anyone confirm if claims reps get paid at least $23 and hour?

Am I Overreacting or Am I Being Taken Advantage of?

So I work maintenance at a gym. $14/hr 40hrs a week. I have officially been there the longest out of everyone in the maintenance team at 5 months. (High turnover couldn’t imagine why). I am literally the only one who shows up and does more than clean some things and go home. I’ve made multiple additions to the gym itself like: Equipment wall mounts at the front desk A new break room upstairs I helped redo. I have created multiple systems to help keep maintenance organized and well oiled such as an inventory, fixes, and to do board I attached to the door so anyone on the team can write things we need, need to do, need to fix, or even suggestions for quality of life improvements around the place. A daily checklist of tasks that have to be done every day divided into sections and spaces for people to…
