Making less than half what I was led to believe I would be making

As title says, I did two initial interviews with the company I am at now. During those, the owner told me the other individual holding the same position I would be taking on had made 18k and 13k per month in the past two months. Seeing as this is a management and fully commission based job, I figured I would have to “ramp up”, but would be making at least close to that within a few months. Fast forward five months and I am barely pulling in 5k most months. There is no possible way for me to get anywhere near 18k, let alone 13. I’m stuck with the B Team while the original A team is making all the money. Not only that, the first month I made nothing and the second made less than $2.5k. It gets even worse as two other people were fired within a month…

Starting to act my wage

I’ve been with a company for 13 years. In April I asked for a raise due to the work load I’ve had and the amount of hours I’ve put in. Not to mention my personal shit show of being in the process of a long and painful divorce… The response was everyone is replaceable. And instead of a raise I could go on unpaid FMLA after I use all of my paid time off. Casually chatting in my office with my coworker of 1 year and find out he makes a decent amount more than I do for arguably less work. I used to take pride in being a hard worker, but at this point I’ll gladly do the bare minimum. Second interview for a new job Friday morning, anyway.

I am honestly not sure if my company is real

Hey. Long time reader (this is an alt) first time poster. Today at work I got multiple lacerations requiring stitches. My manager “Can I expect you in at 7am to open tomorrow? Oh and how are you?” This is my third week with this company. Should I stay purely because I feel as ASM I need to make sure something happens to improve safety? I don't want something to happen to someone where it ends worse than what happened to me and trust me when I say I got off lightly from what could have happened. Or should I say fuck it and leave?

My company’s HR and executive team gaslit and buried my reporting of a discriminatory client who abuses staff, knowingly hates women – to avoid risking their revenue

My most recent met pay is 63% of my gross pay.

I live in Canada where the cost of living is nuts. Before tax I make almost $3100 a pay. My most recent net pay is $1970. Meaning 37% of my pay went to taxes ($600 per pay, WTAF), pension, union, parking, and benefit deductibles. I find it so insane that they can deduct so much. I live in a city where housing costs have skyrocketed. My rent is $2100 to live in a humble basement. My other bills are about $1000 including my phone, internet, utilities, insurance, student loans, and gas. This leaves me $900 per month for groceries (which cost me $150 a damn week) and other costs of living. The sad part is my income is higher than the national average. I am a young person and I wonder if I will ever be able to own a home. I make more than my dad, who was able…

The majority of Americans are $400 away from living in the streets. What is this administration doing about it?

It seems we are in a crisis and the government is sitting on its hands.

I’m done with this, going to go become a monk and live a quiet life.

TLDR: Internships are bullshit. Just need to rant. I've interned for two full years part time as an undergrad in a STEM field. Turns out no one wants to count it because it part time despite being a full two years, not just over the summer or just during a semester like most. Couldn't get a job in my field for a long time. When I finally did get one, I was promised 3 months of internship then full time. Took a full year before I became full time, this was during covid, but that company got two PPP loans which idk what they used it on. During this time I was accepted into grad school so I said why not, I'm being severely underpaid anyway. Worked until school started and then quit. Fast forward through grad school in a different STEM field, got internship in my last semester at…

Ahh Delaware

Lately I’ve been seeing how my state is really a crappy place to work. As a right to work state they are are very pro employer. I just lost an unemployment case to o my former employer who I won’t name over bs reasons. And it’s making me think more and more how broken this system is. For instance the former employer wanted people to work for cheap as they are a corporation but get as much out of you as possible while trying to say they are the best place to work etc. How do other employees fall for it? I just don’t see ho they think that a corporation is so great.

got placed on a 30 day probation for attendance over pre approved time off.

I work in medical billing. My job is very easy. it could easily be a part time job. All my coworkers love to shoot the shit in the break & basically do anything but work. I however, like to get my work done and leave. I take a lot of pre scheduled time off. For vacation, appointments, random emergencies etc. Mostly all unpaid, and occasionally using my allotted PTO. My office is moving buildings, and the new office took 2.5 MONTHS longer than anticipated to finish construction. They had us driving an extra 20-25 minutes across town. (My commute is normally only 20 minutes so it’s doubling my commute time each way. I also normally work right down the street from my husband & we carpool to save gas) After this unexpected increase in my gas bill, and trying to work with my leads to avoid the commute, I emailed…
