My boss is actually really nice and gives me whatever I ask for. He bumped me up from 16/hr to 27/hr just bc I asked. He lets me do whatever I want whenever I want as long as I’m doing something. But lately I’ve been making up meaningless work and practicing making music while clocked in (working from home almost all the time) I even have a 2nd office my boss agreed to pay rent on. I should be grateful for my job but all I can think about is leaving to be a waitress or bartender. I want to be at my main office full time by the end of the month but I can’t stand being there. Its a complicated situation on why we can’t just Quit this job just yet, but this contract cleaning job is doing shady shit. I’ll keep this short but we need advice. I know the first answer is just “Call out. Dont show up. I recently got a job offer from a company that seems mildly desperate for workers, and are specifically targeting people who just got their bachelor's. It is almost definitely an employee position, but they are very upfront about the fact that I will be 1099. If I do end up taking this position, would I get in trouble for being 1099 when the position does not qualify? I do not mind paying the extra taxes. I am not struggling for money and could quit at any time.

After 3 weeks of interviewing for this company, including a phone screening, a meet the team, as well as reaching out to three of my references, I wasn't selected. I'm very disappointed, as the team interviewing me used very positive language when discussing the position, and even talked about what the job entailed “when” I interviewed. I work in a manufacturing company in the QC Lab as a lab technician doing testing and I wanted to impress my boss so I started doing extra tasks to impress him. After that, GM came to my boss and told him that he can offer me a promotion so my boss came and talked to me and asked me what I am expecting in a promotion and things like that. I work for a very large private company who are going out of their way to not immunise myself and my colleagues against hepatitis. My company is one of the biggest in the UK, we look after the most challenging 10-18 year olds in the country and we get either bitten, scratched or spat at, at least once a week if not more. I have spent 5 months communicating with the head of HR who has tried to tell me I'm wrong and its not for the company to immunise the workforce (which it is) and even when they finally put me through to occupational health they then mislead them about what I was after so they then would not see me.
