Yesterday, I ignored all of my bosses call’s & communications yesterday. He is claims that he is all about teaching and transparency but that is really an excuse to have large Zoom meetings where he hammers people with questions like your at a tribunal but also doesn’t listen to any of your responses and just wants you to break down and agree with him. My breaking point came when after a two hour meeting on Monday where he told me my numbers for this report were grossly overstated even though they were exactly the numbers he was getting. But I had to explain my process and was told if I didn’t understand something I should come to him sooner. Sorry in advance if this isn’t the right group to ask. Long story short I work for a dealership as a mechanic. We are located in Quebec , Canada . This dealership sells ABC cars and does service on them. Fixing engines, check engines, maintenance ect… that’s what I do. One of my co workers got taken into the office and got “caught” working on his personal time on a ABC car. There is a policy that we never knew about or signed up for that states “ABC requires pre-approval before salaried or exempt employees may engage in employment outside ABC. I am extremely puzzled by the nature of “everyday” v. “work” mentality. In the world outside of work (that includes family, friends, the media, books, general culture, the internet), we all agree on a few basic tenets of reality. In fact medical professionals, lifestyle gurus, and psychologists don't hesitate to remind us of them frequently. ​ These tenets are: -look after yourself – stay healthy through eating good food, excercising, having regular health checkups (well, maybe not in the UK, but you get the idea) – get plenty of rest when you are ill -cultivate your relationships- having no good relationships can lead to issues such as dementia – get enough sleep ​ Furthermore we also have the tenets of “pursue your passion”, “develop yourself”, “grow as a person” etc. These are almost universally accepted as “good things”, “reasonable things”, “things to aspire to”. I worked for this company for about six months. It’s been having a very strange vibe for a little while now but they do some kind of shady shit so it’s hard to understand where the vibes are coming from. Anyways, I got into work last night and was let go when I asked why they said it’s just not working out. We don’t have to tell you it’s at will state. So they got robbed about two weeks ago. Nothing about the robbery makes any sense and all of us have been having theories about who was involved because it looks like an inside job. from what we were told they were five people involved. They stole car from Aurora drove here 4 men all in black broke in and were out in under two minutes. however the things that they stole do not make sense for that robbery.…

Keeping details vague for my own protection. Now I know the title makes it seem like she was the enemy. But she was actually pretty cool. Treated us like human beings, let us supervise our selves, and honestly best fucking boss I ever worked with. The only issue is that she's really pro-capitalism and anti-union. I wouldn't say she's belligerent about it but at least once a year I would have to sit through a ten minute lecture about how unions make workers lazy. She was also president of the company. She sold majority shares to another company and after a year they fired her and bought her out. She really did not want that.
