Hi, as seen in title, I'm having some indecision lately. So I was first hired by a contract company in April. I work as a dietitian in PA. The contract company I worked for had locations all over the country, which was especially appealing since I was planning a move to a different state. I was even working out some times to travel to states in New England to get a good idea of the area, housing, and job locations. As of two weeks ago, the contract company announced that they would be leaving the facility as they weren't being paid for the employees and services they provide. We, as employees, were left in the dark and had to make huge decisions on the fly. Continue with the facility and sign on to be their staff or leave and take unemployment. I signed a job offer that I believe they…

Pre probation meeting
Wanted some opinions here. My work place has 2 probation meetings one at 3 months the other at 6 months. After your second meeting you are a permanent staff member. I completed my 3 month meeting with the only feedback being that I'm “a bit loud on the phones” So alright I guess. I've had no disciplinary actions or been called in for not meeting standards/deadlines/ect. Out of the blue my boss has organised a pre-probation meeting 3 days before the meeting… I've spoken yo my colleagues and non of them had a pre-probation meeting. Am I overthinking this here or does this seem like bad news brewing for me?
I got told that the owner of my company, ''Would not be giving me, personal private information of my fellow employees. Unless, I wanted to contact her directly with an explanation for why I needed them…' I asked for everyone's first & last names. Can anyone tell me how a person's last name is 'private information?' I'm also annoyed with the person who asked the big boss' 'permission.' I would have said NOT to bother her…
What I said. I want to create a not-for-profit organization. Ill make it for something stupid. Looking at clouds. If you work for me ill assign you to look at clouds occasionally. Can you then apply for student loan forgiveness in the US after 10 years?
I need a income, I’m broke af
I'm gonna loose everything if I don't get income asap please help me
Unfortunately, you can imagine the overwhelming agreement.
My old coworker is looking to leave their job because they absolutely hate how toxic and backstabbing their job is. They’re taking their vacation time that has already been preapproved but isn’t planning on returning to their job afterwards. Not sure how unemployment works but they’re wondering if they’ll be able to collect unemployment? I know they’ll probably not get approved initially but is there a penalty time in which they’ll be able to collect afterwards? Also, any other routes that could help them would be greatly appreciated.
First “real” job
So long story short My parents own a restaurant and I worked there since I was 14 until now (19). I decided I wanted to get another job on my own terms because I wanted to be more independent and not rely on my parents store for all my money. Plus I would still work at the restaurant but not as much as this job was full time. I did this for about a year and I was ranked the best worker by our tier system. It was a warehouse and all I had to do was pick orders which I had the highest numbers. I had a cousins graduation to go to so I decided to let them know I would like a day off for this. Also i asked a MONTH before the graduation for the day off and this was my first time ever asking for a…
Nepotism/Favoritism in retail sales?
Hi, I(24M) work sales for a major nationwide furniture company and typically, we are paid either hourly or commission if you end up making more than your hours worked. The major issue with this is that the location of the store you work at is by far the largest factor in terms of making good money and it seems like no matter what I do or how good I perform I never get opportunities to work in the high volume stores. It’s an easy enough job and it’s almost always dead at the stores I work at so I usually make hourly, ending up with about 43k a year. The guys at the store in the bordering tax free state 15 minutes away make 100k+. The one or two times ive covered these stores the customers practically hand you their money and the salesmen are treated like gods by upper…
Sneaky Hour Adjustments
Hi all, I’ve been working as a server part-time to get me through school for about three years now. The restaurant industry can be a super shady place with horrific worker treatment, and I’ve gotten pretty fed up. Not only have I never had a break the past three years in the industry, but I’m been employed by company’s that love to cut corners and get every last cent back into their own pockets. Last night, I clocked into my shift at 4:50 and left at 11:10.. This morning I check and my hours have been approved from 5-11.. I look back in past shifts in the app, and see all my clock-in and out times have been perfectly rounded. It seems to me that unbeknownst to me, I’ve been getting cut out of probably 20 minutes of work every single fucking shift. To make it worse, the way they…
