Great timing too because I had just saved up for a trip to Las Vegas with my girlfriend, we leave this Sunday. I always felt like my boss did not like me or respect me. Three times within the past year my mother was rushed to the hospital and two out of three times my boss refused to let me take time off to see her, and the last time I was only able to go because my boss wasn't even at work. My income paid the rent and other bills so I didn't even try to fight it, just felt like a pos all day at work. I'm finally able to quit this job now, and my mother is more independent. This happened today, I'm now home after my last full workday for this company. I resigned from my shitty office job Friday as it had just come to a point where I could no longer cope. We're understaffed and most of the team is new people still in training, and I was doing 2 people's work as the other person left the week before, and I had a separate project to focus on. Last week was one of the worst I've ever had, I've been stressed outta my mind since Wednesday when they implied they were going to fire me (then didn't). Things were not going well as I had to spend a lot of time trying to fix that project to the expense of other ones. Seems like it would weed out a lot of bad managers.. some of which make considerably more than staff?

So I (19f) work at a retail clothing store with a business casual dress code that’s VERY lenient. My managers (I have 4) are really cool and don’t really care on what we wear as long as we don’t wear graphic tees (unless it’s a pattern) and no booty shorts. I also live in Texas and if you know that it get hot asf. Plus the AC at my job is utter shit so I wear shorts to keep me cool (which go down to my knees). I do also wear dresses and skirts that go to that same level but wear shape wear to a paint so I asked one of my managers Jewel (Late 20sF who is top rank at my store). Now I know that if you click on one article (this is using Edge browser BTW) your feed tends to try and give you more of the same, but it seems that I see more and more online articles about “Work from home is going away” or a similar title. Anyone else seeing this trend?

I have had multiple interviews for positions where I have been told I will be contacted for a second (or third) interview only to be completely ghosted. I expect it from some places and I can take rejection just fine but it’s been like 6 jobs in a row. I am so over this crap. Rant over. Thanks for reading.

Like legit, the system now is so broken with employers trying to fuck workers on basic human rights. Might aswell burn the system down right?

My manager asked our team if anyone was willing to go on rotation, basically a contracted amount of time to do another job in the company, and I said I would be interested. I went on vacation with the impression that my new contract would be available when I returned. When I returned, I was told the promotion was no longer available but I was still expected to take the job. When I asked what would happen if I reject the role, she said it was fine, but that that work would still be coming to me regardless of my decision. There has been no contract given to me even to discuss the length of assignment, my new manager, days I need to be in office, etc. My (old) manager now wants to have a mid-year review and the comments left are all about this new ‘role’ that I’m not…
