I don’t know if my boss is legally required to tell us who clocked out, but if that’s the case, they would’ve told me this already. Everytime I try to call out, (I haven’t officially called out over text in months now because of this, they’ve threatened to fire me if I didn’t come in that day) I’m told “3/4/5 people called out already”, but I find this funny since I checked the schedule all the time since it’s on a board on the wall, and I check to see who called out, and even ask people if they called out, and they say “No, I haven’t called out” and they are clocked in the day they were supposed to be “called out”. And it’s real funny, every time I ask who called out, they ignore the question or just simply plain don’t respond at all. My man’s who helped…
Month: August 2023
Meeting with meatbag Boss. He starts talking how people piss him off. Then mentiones guy x – gal y and guy z.Those are the top three people he doesnt like. Im continuing my report – then he sighs and tells me into my face “thats why I dont like you – thats why you are Nr.4”. Apparently I only had 80% of the info he wanted and couldnt answer two questions he had. We are understaffed – I am alone in a “department” where we should be two as the absolute Minimum. As a result I worked nonstop the last 7 months – my last vaccation was in December. My productivity is down I cant keep up with work and am exhausted. But asshole boss still expects me to work hard after telling me that he doesnt like me. Thanks for the heads up pal. Im going to look for…
A little backstory…I work for a fortune 500 company in accounting. I recently got “promoted” to escalations aka fix all of our screw ups and do the tasks my manager no longer wants to do. I was lowballed on pay due to going through a recruiter. I had to FIGHT and pull teeth to get a 9 percent raise as I was told it was a “lateral” move despite manager tasks being put onto my plate. My productivity on a bad day is twice that of my co-workers. On a good day my numbers are 3 x. I constantly take overtime to keep us from falling behind due to understaffing. The new hire has shown up 2 days out of the 5 every week since she was hired months ago. And always late. I constantly have to fix her screw ups before they through. But I thought hey I’m valued…
Nobody can buy a house these days
My grandfather didn’t even graduate from high school. He worked as a security guard his entire life but was able to afford a house and have a family. My father graduated from university, and was barely able to buy a condo with combined income with my mother who worked part time. I have a master’s degree and make more than average for someone my age. It is completely unimaginable to ever be able own a house.
Just laid off after many years working and want to take a few months off for once. I am required to apply to 3 jobs per week but I really don't want to take any. Any tips on how to not get hired for any for a while?
i’m not sure if this is the right community to post this in. for context: my boyfriend and i graduated college last year. we both got associates degrees in graphic design. he found a local, small web design company to intern with before he graduated and was hired into a full-time position shortly before his internship ended, which was fantastic. he is a salaried employee, and was technically hired in at $14 an hour. he brought up how he felt that pay was a little low, but his employers told him that the benefits are good which = why the pay is low. fast forward a year later and the company experienced multiple people (aka entire departments) leaving all within about a month and a half, which left him and the ONLY 2 other coworkers picking up a good chunk of work they were unfamiliar with. about a month ago,…
Wrong store?
Recently I applied for a job. It was listed as a store in my town that was pretty close to where I lived. Today I was to to come to an interview, the only problem was it was on the other side of the country. Basically, I applied for a job listed as being in my town but was in reality no wear near me
