Her child was in a shopping cart watching videos on a phone while she stocked shelves. This is the American dream come to life. It's horrendous and despicable what corporations make people, human fucking beings, resort to in order to live in this society. Her baby is sitting there for presumably hours in front of a screen while strangers walk by and her mother works. Sorry if this isn't the correct sub for this, it just makes my blood boil. I'm speaking of recruiters that are employed by the hiring company. A few weeks ago, I was invited to interview for a position I applied for. I did, then I was ghosted. I was contacted by another recruiter about the same time, and scheduled an interview. The recruiter cancelled the interview shortly after, saying the manager had a conflict. He assured me he would reach out to reschedule. It turns out he sent my application to the wrong manager. But instead of telling me, he ghosted me. My family didn't encourage me to join a union when I started working and my mum wasn't active in trade unions until much later on life when she was established in her profession. I've been trying to process my thoughts and emotions regarding this meeting earlier with the CEO of the new job I was just offered. Long story short, I was referred to this position by a good friend and though the type of work wasn't anything to get me too excited, I was thankful to have finally gotten a decent job offer after 2-3 interviews.
