Management announced my entire department will be returning to office 2 days a week. Almost everyone is currently fully remote. However, they don’t want to apply this to me, who was hired as hybrid. The fully remote teammates were almost all hired pre pandemic at 5 days in office. They’re forcing me to continue my current 3 days in office instead of 2 like the rest of the department. They have provided 0 actual evidence about why this is necessary. Not only are they screwing over folks whose work life balance depended on them being home all the time, they’re sticking it to me too. Idk how else to defend myself. I refuse to comply with an unequal department policy. PS my boss said “it’s 2 days for the department but some will do more, some will do less.” Wonder who gets to do less? 🤔
I dont know how i can justify this massive gap in my resume. I did a bit of tutoring and care taking but was unable to work most of the time. I have a degree in foreign service (culture and politics). So what can i do?
Need some advice on what to do.
Kind of a little bit of a rant, apologize in advance but I need some advice. So, I started a job at a new company about 2 weeks ago. It was a job I really liked but after the second day I realized that it might not be a good fit, but I did not want to give up on the job right away. But I talked to other employees there and they told me that people are consistently leaving because of the way the boss treats his employees, I didn’t pay much attention to it, I took it as just employees complaining about work just like any other job, at the end the 1st week I started to realize that maybe there was a reason why people left this job. The boss of this company is constantly talking down to the employees telling every little thing that they do…
“Just nocallnoshow”
EU here with a question: I often read here, that workers shouldnt quit but just dont show up anymore. How exactly does that work? Even in RightToWork, wouldnt you be kinda needing to TELL them you quit?
I’m grateful someone had the bravery to sue my last job and open a class action lawsuit. I took that job because it was the only place that was willing to give me film industry experience. The goal was just to spend a few months to a year gaining experience then move on to something better, but of course, it didn’t work out that way. In the class action notice, my job denied not paying overtime. I laughed when I saw that. Here’s the ridiculous things I went through at the job, who were so cheap by the way: We had to clock out at 6 and work past 6 without pay to get work done. I often did at least an hour of overtime a few days a week. A ton of people were fired if you couldn’t meet the high volume of work. 8 hours a day was…
I am so frustrated
I'm getting torn apart in the poverty and poor subreddits. I apparently need to pull myself up by my bootstraps and my local job market has NOTHING to do with why I can't find a job! I'm applying for every work from home job I even meet a single requiremet for. I'm barely getting any interviews. And when I do get them I use the STAR method but I keep getting passed over because my background is almost all restaurant management. Nobody wants to take a chance on someone switching careers now, and nobody wants to actually train. I am applying for local jobs too. Except, my local job market is absolutely brutal. My city is one of the worst in the nation for just about everything. I'm in Cleveland Ohio. For every 10 job postings you see, maybe two are companies actually looking to hire. So which two are…
I've worked like a dog my entire adult life for over 35 years now. I'm tired of the rat race, and I want nothing more than to drop out of this fucked-up system. The only reason I'm still working full-time is for the health insurance that most companies offer their employees. I'm in very good health, but a catastrophic accident or illness would put most people into bankruptcy, so it's wise to have coverage For the last 10 years, I've acquired 6 acres of land and built a small cabin that's completely off-grid. I have no rent, no mortgage, and no utility bills. My only expenses are my cell phone bill, car insurance, property tax and other general living expenses. I'd like to go work a part-time job. I could get by just fine on $300 a week. Once again, the only thing stopping me is lack of health insurance.…
Should I create a separate account?
Should I create a separate, anon/ private account just for antiwork? I want to actually vent about my workplace but I work for a major corp and I'm low-key concerned (but might just be paranoid) Would it would be me in my best interest to do that? Advice?
For me it was working for a big box store and demanded that all employees wear the store’s apparel while on shift. Even had managers check the tags of the clothes and if they weren’t from the store they threatened to write you up!
