Got hired in the Technician position of the company I'm working for. Last month, some guy walked in saying he came for an interview for the driver position but we already got a driver so the told the guy they are looking for a technician right in front of me. And just now some guy walked in for an interview for the technician position. Are they looking for a replacement for me or am I just being paranoid
Month: September 2023
This time I have covid-19, so my pay is protected. If it was not, long rant short, unless I cut into my vacation time I will have to take an unpaid sick day. I will have to cut into my vacation time anyway, to get out of negative sick PTO, but if I'm ill again I just won't get paid because over 40 hours. I make the same exact amount of money each payroll, it just seems so petty and unrealistic to take out 2-3 of my daily wages if I get covid from my irresponsible boss and coworkers again. I really don't understand this stuff, as after this pandemic my immune system is weak af and I have a hard time just battling out a cold knocking out over half PTO accrual immediately.
Do I tell them my wage?
I've got some interviews planned, and I currently am at an impasse with telling them my current wage. I respect transparency and have sometimes told them my wage and also FMV expectations for the role. I have an idea of the payband only with Indeeds estimate at the moment. I get thrown off and don't know what to say when they ask salary expectations, and I'm afraid that I may default to running the numbers out loud and selling myself short of a better wage. Of course, I can always counter-offer. Do I tell them? What do I say when they ask my salary expectations? How do I pivot? Do I ask them the salary on a panel interview? Also, I have a salary, bonuses, and expect a 5% raise in 2024. How do I navigate this?
Handicap Parking Thief
I work for a large company. Our branch has employee parking in the back. We have five guest parking spaces in front of the building, one is Handicapped. There is an employee who parks there every day because he has his wife’s Handicap mirror tag. She does not work here. Branch management refuses to do anything because he is……. black. What are our options without starting a war or being punished for racism?
Would sending a general thank you email to everybody in the workplace be disparaging? This is her email: For some context, my sister has been in her workplace for 10 months now, and the new manager (who was hired just last month) gave her the letter of termination today out of the blue. She made up a random excuse to fire her and after my sister cried while heading home, this same manager sent a different job related to her field, saying that she (the manager) will vouch for my sister, and that she will give her a glowing recommendation. My sister said ever since this new manager got hired last month, this same manager fired 5 other staff that was there before her. Manager also said that the owner of the place does not know about the firing at the moment. ——– To Dr. ______ and the ______ Team,…
Hello hopefully this is a welcoming subreddit for this topic! I have been a supervisor for a company for over 10 years. Always had good relationships with my direct reports and the management I report to. I have always been a hard worker and slaved for this company during bad times, I have seen the ups and downs. the good times and the bad times. I am always on top of my numbers and even am a overachiever. I was considered to be the next promotion in line if something ever opened up. Well I was called into an office recently to speak to someone high up, I have seen this guy before he's like 3 ranks above me, in charge of multiple buildings, and I was told due to the company consolidating and restructuring I have 30 days to apply to internal job postings or I could…
So I work in dentistry in the front office, I have for about 2-3 years now. I first worked in a corporate environment. So there was a point system for tardies and absences, morning and monthly meetings, disciplinary action and yearly employee reviews. It was an organized but disorganized mess. The micromanaging was becoming a lot right before I left. Numbers and production were priority, but it was to a point where many of us were getting too stressed. For a dentistry office, this didn’t feel right, as we would sometimes force treatment on patients to meet production and I felt gross. I left a few months ago. I now work at a private office, where the dentist is the owner, and the office manager is his wife of over two decades. They are in their 40s. They are very sweet and nice people, but they tend to be perfectionists.…
I'm doing my BS and trying to enter IT, finally after almost two years of job hunting got to the final interview with two big companies, the one I was more interested was a technical support role, wich would pay well enough and I could learn a lot on the experiences. I was thinking about this one wich would help me kickstart my career. Well, after a week and half of not being answered, they scheduled a final interview where I happily discovered that the job they offered me was canceled, and they were interviewing me for a internship opportunity wich my benefits were: – Less than half the initial wage – full presencial without chance of changing – My boss trying to gaslight me that if I work hard, I would get better opportunities soon And not to mention my favorite – They literally didn't even warned me about…
