I currently work as a scheduler with an incompetent electrical company. They’re constantly going through changes and expecting me to “evolve” with those changes. If I don’t remember my job, I get yelled at or my boss comes raging into my office. It stresses me out to a level of where I start shaking when he hands me my paycheck. I only had two days of training with this company and it all went out the window when they’re going through more changes… in December, they plan to flip the script all over again and I’m tired of this. I found a remote job that pays more and has growth potential. I rather get health insurance outside a company’s policy so I don’t have to worry about losing coverage in the future… What do I do if my boss decides to refuse to give me my last paychecks or expect…

…thinking I could leave the hellhole I’m in. Haven’t heard from them yet because they haven’t been capable of matching me with a client.
Using ChatGPT to quit your job
Society is designed to siphon money from you. Ads are shown to you constantly because they just need to catch you in a moment of weakness in order for you to part with your hard earned cash. You will be told you need more discipline. That you need to make more sacrifices. That you need to be stronger. But that's all bullshit in a system that's designed to take advantage of you. If we're going to talk about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY …why don't we talk about the people running companies and governments taking personal responsibility for their systems? Predatory systems that have proven time and again that they are great at separating people from their money. Corporations and governments are ALL WORKING TOGETHER so you have to work more to make ends meet. There is so much propaganda out there that makes people feel like they can save their way to…
I’m a US and UK citizen. However the UK pay’s engineers dogshit salaries. But I’m not liking the work culture in the US. Any countries that pay engineers well and have a decent work culture?
They kept making gendered comments about how rare it is for women to make it in the field…. then said my resume of 5yrs dealership tech experience on top of 2 years in stores like theirs (firestone/NTB) being the most productive tech in the region week after week…. “looked clerical” like I did paperwork all day and “do you even know how to get under the hood?” “Can you do a brake job, struts?” “Do you have tools?” Along with Numerous technical questions meant to make me prove myself. Mind you I’m also ASE certified in brakes, and suspension which was listed on my resume. And numerous advanced classes from garage gurus in addition to factory training and certifications from Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Chrysler. I think they called me in for the novelty of it. To top it off, during the call that set up the interview he begged…
Advice about overtime
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but I'm hoping to get some advice about my new job. I started working in a bakery on August 21st and my shifts were supposed to be 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I have certain foods I have to finish and then pack up the orders before I can leave, there is no one available to help me as the other employees have their own tasks to do and are working 10-12 hours. If I don't finish my tasks and pack up the orders then they will not be ready to send the following morning. I'm not sure if it's my fault and I'm slow, or if I'm being assigned too many food items to bake, but I have been working 9-10 hour shifts. I'm exhausted and often left to work alone for a couple hours.…
IDK how long I can keep up this cycle
I work fully remotely, so there's the silver lining. Bust ever since I graduated, I've become the sole breadwinner of the family and it's SO EXHAUSTING. My passion is writing, and I'm dedicating whatever scraps of time and mental energy I have to it. But honestly, I've had a very rough childhood and my nervous system feels FRIED but I have no clue how long for I'll have to keep making money and work and pretend everything is fine and fake laugh and have to slave away just to EXIST. If you have any life hacks for ANYTHING, send them my way. Especially for: living paycheck to paycheck, no savings because of family drama (long story), and at one point I was working three jobs just to pay the bills Any advice or commiserations or solidarity appreciated 🥲
Retail, bullshit job I neither want or need, but I am on universal income at the moment so have to attend enough interviews to keep the income support team happy. 3 minutes into this interview, the door is open, a floor staff member comes in and asked when the boss will be done because there is a customer who needs something. No. “sorry, I am busy” or “tell X to deal with it” …straight into “Jesus christ! It's SUNDAY and I am INTERVIEWING can't anyone DO ANYTHING themselves here!” in that just bordering on shouting voice that shithead managers do. So I stood up, and said “I do not want to work for someone like you” and I left. I hope my leaving didnt get the shopworker in any more grief than she already had, who knows maybe she will leave too.
