Until it comes to banning people who pull knives out on staff, or addicts who have episodes in the store, genuinely had a knife pulled on me by a teenager, then found out a few days later the dropkick was not banned and would not be banned as it would “cause more issues”

“Dental Insurance “ he said
Long story short my boss says he is going to be adding dental Insurance and maybe other things. Show up for work the next day and there is a bunch of Pizza Hut , 2 guys in suits , and my boss enjoying the pizza. Turns out they are just Aflac salesman that were invited in for his benefit . I was really excited the night before LOL. They proceeded to offer junk and overpriced plans . Good times .

Employers really are just so clueless
Boss told me if we don't ship in a few months everyone gets laid off. I'm underpaid anyway so I started slacking and looking for a new job, and my boss is full on surprised Pikachu that I wasn't grinding. Was I supposed to be motivated???

I work at a bakery that also serves coffee and I learned from a previous co-worker that I shouldn't clock out before doing the simplest of things like putting a bottle of glass cleaner away. I've adapted that and used it for the first time a week ago. I always ask my shift leads if they need anything else before I clock out to avoid this. I was working with my boss's boss and I checked with her and she I was good to go. She then asked me to turn a light off after I clocked out and was almost out the door. It's the simplest thing she could've asked, but I strictly considered that work that I wasn't getting paid for, and on top of that she kept letting people in after closing, causing me to stay over an hour later than I should've been there. She hasn't…
Hi. Teaching load has increased as the pay remains the lowest in country. My idealism is gone, my energy is flagged, I'm ready to leave after my decade teaching and do something else. My goal is to have a job that doesn't destroy my mental health. I am working on a novel and I would love if I could find a job where I can work on it on the job. I don't care if the pay is low. What kind of position do you think I could get where I can pull off writing on the job? Thanks, y'all.
Big mood shift in small company
Sorry english is not my motherlangauge. I work at a small mashine building company in germany that has aroud 50 employees. I did my 3,5 years of training in that company and now im and alltogether 6 years working there. In the begining the overall athmosphere was great and people had really fun comming to work and socialise with each others. We have very lax rules regarding private chatter and as long the work is done no one cares. Pay was always a topic and how we are chronically underpaid in a industry that usualy pays more but it was newer a deal breaker till a year ago. After covid the mood got sour very fast and the only topics that were talked about was money and how unhappy everyone was. We even had a meeting with ig metal (german union for metal industry) with all our core employees without…
Can I vent about my union here?
Back in mid July I was let go from a company I’ve been with for 3 years. I was let go for misconduct, which was 3 missed punches in a 90 day time span. The missed punches happened in April, June, and July. I filed a grievance with my union for being terminated, and the grievance process began. It’s been a frustrating and annoying process the whole time. From the get go the communication from my union rep has been awful. An example being during step 2 not telling me until an hour before about a meeting I could attend. Then recently with the step 3, telling me about a meeting & giving me the wrong time. Now the process is past step 3. The union rep is telling me that he’ll have to get the approval from his higher up to take it to arbitration because it’s an expensive…
