Everyone is up in arms for minimum wage increase but it seems everyone is failing to realize that corporations are just going to adjust their prices to be able to pay us more. Do you see the infinite loop? Are all of you taking crazy pills? The road to salvation is not printing more money for everyone but by actually changing policies and changing the way the system operates. This movement is so blind its insane at this point

Would love to hear some good suggestions of what I can ask for in order to not quit. Outrageous demands welcome and encouraged. It's a gov't contractor on a new contract. The last contract took 10 years to complete in what should have been less than three. New contract is more of the same plus a bunch of new shit too. Already getting a raise that puts me at 6 figures. Still not worth the aggravation. What would you ask for in order to stay. I should add I'm on different meds for anxiety, insomnia, depression, etc. that are going to be impossible to work without, therefore extending my dependence on them and ultimately making detoxing from them even more painful.

I'm EU-based and have 2 bachelors in unrelated subjects. Recently, I joined a company that hired me for a… weird role, I basically must do a lot of tasks on paper (purchasing, sales, administration AND management!) according to my contract, but in practice, I end up doing nothing most of the day, because I am not given deadlines, I am not given standards for my work (I can be given an Excel sheet and hand it in 5 days later half filled and I will be told that I did a good job), but most importantly, I can always have 3-4 project on my hands, and whenever someone comes to ask about the state of one, I just say something like, sorry, been doing the other 3, rinse and repeat with other colleagues, as long as I don't abuse this HARD I can literally stretch for weeks tasks that would…

I am a 17 year old guy residing in India with next to no knowledge about office rules. My friend who's 18 has recently started looking for part time job and found one from contacts of his mom. It was a tally job, which was 5 hours a day. Due to some changes in his schedule of university he is now unable to work and it had suddenly become alot more hectic for him. He decided to quit the job and the employer agreed. Now he started working 1 September and worked till 9 September and left the job on monday (11 September). A few months ago, I applied to Cracker Barrel. I got the job, did orientation, did computer training, and was told that I would start training soon. After about a week, I saw nothing on my schedule. I called them and got no answer. I called again and again two weeks turned into 3 then into a month. After calling with no answer, I decided to find another job. I kept calling Cracker Barrel until a month passed. They kept sending me benefits mails and shit about the company. Why did they do this? How do I quit? I still technically work there, I just was never put on the schedule. It was a 30-minute drive from me, so I didn't bother driving there to check-in. I (17nb) went to the emergency room Sunday. I had to get a lumbar puncture, so I had to call out for my Monday and Tuesday shifts. I’m an opener (cause I’m in college), and we barely have any of those so the lobby had to be closed until the afternoon when the high schoolers came from getting out. Everyone had to order through the drive thru.
